Since I woke up this morning around 6 AM I was unable to use my Vita or PS3's PSN-tied games. Final Fantasy 14, however, worked fine. This information on why finally surfaced.

Seriously, if Sony didn't have such poor service this crap wouldn't happen. I have had nothing but problems with their service and stupid ToS changes and lousy support. They are the bottom of the barrel for all I mentioned. I still wouldn't hack them, though. That is unfair to the customers that you are trying to allegedly help. Sacrifice all to save all doesn't work.

mmmmm sacrifice .. now that's tasty. no hacker thinks of others they are usually selfish saying they are doing it for a perpes.. if that where true they would accept games CAN NOT be free let alone not every system should be jailbroke... this only leads to cheaters.. usually ppl who know nothing about computers looking for that first jerk offs mod release and his next.. if they had a noble cause it should have been to stop cheaters THEY HELPED CREATE..ty

Huh, I've never really had a problem with Sony's services. Can you detail what issues you've had?

I've had a PS3 since Metal Gear Solid Editions were sold. If it breaks - for any reason - they will remove the backward compatible part if I ship it to them to fix. EVEN IF there is no need to remove said part. Then they will charge me 150.00 to put it back.

PS3 is stolen and Sony and the cops will do nothing to help you. Both say to talk to the other.

Can only activate one console a year - even through support via call. Got my replacement system. it bricked the first 2 weeks. Now I have to wait another year before I can download my movies again do to needing to activate the console.

Try talking to Sony support for ANYTHING via phone or e-mail. They are more useless than a 3 year old with a plastic toy computer. They can't even fix something simple such as billing information. I called them up asking to help me with the activation and bricking. Support said they can't do that. I asked them to register. They said they don't do that. Then, I asked them to change my billing information. they don't do that either. I said "I thought you did support!" they said "I do." I said "No you don't! You obviously do not do physical hardware maintenance, so that leaves everything I just asked and you don't do any of it so what DO YOU do!?" They said "What do YOU do, then, Sir?!" I said "I'm a PC Technician. I do ACTUAL support!" and I hung up.

For the longest time they also limited DL amounts. If you downloaded a movie and deleted it or lost that console you never were able to download it again. If you downloaded a game you got 3 downloads total. As opposed to MicroSoft who allows unlimited of both. PS Plus is worthless. MicroSoft gold membership gives you added bandwidth for lag-free gaming, games you keep forever even offline / without gold membership anymore. On Sony's end, you don't get a boost in bandwidth - which they need almost as bad as Nintendo. You can only keep the games so long as the PS Plus is active. And Cloud Save is only usable with Plus, unlike MS who has it for free always.

Sony is only a slight step above Nintendo in terms of user-friendliness. Microsoft dwarfs them both by far there. Nintendo dwarfs everyone I've ever dealt with (gaming or non) in terms of support, though.

Wow, seems like you've had some nasty luck, that really sucks. Can't say we've ever bricked a console or had one stolen, but we've never had any issues activating/deactivating consoles, or changing account information before.

I do disagree about PS Plus being worthless though. I've gotten tons of games through it, and never had a problem downloading any of them. Getting multiple games for the Vita, PS3 and PS4 every single month on top of store discounts that also count for sales for only $50 a year (Less then the cost of a brand new release game) is a pretty good deal in my opinion. I'm not super concerned with 'keeping the games forever' when I'm getting them at such a steep discount in the first place and I can get them ALL again so inexpensively. But then I can see why you'd dislike it with the other service issues you've had too. If I were having download issues and whatnot it'd probably seem pretty worthless!

PS+ games are better than the Gold games they've been giving away, although I do wish you could keep the games forever like you can with Gold. Oh well, if I really like a game I'll buy it if my subscription ends.
