PlayStation Sony confirm Activision still own Crash

Activision still owns the Crash Bandicoot license, PlayStation's VP of publisher and developer relations Adam Boyes has confirmed.

So despite recent suggestions that Sony now own the Crash Bandicoot IP, and are working on a new game, Activision still own the IP. This means the chances of this actually getting a new entry (of any decency) is severely limited.

I'm guessing Activision did try to sell it but Sony wasn't willing to pay their price.

I think the most likely thing to happen is a partnership where a Sony studio develops the game as a PS4 exclusive and it still belongs to Activision.

Do you think the Crash series is still popular enough? I love crash 2 to death but it seems these days that those kinds of games are no longer loved.

Ratchet and Clank did well, so did Unravel. So I think there's room for it, a lot of people seem to be calling for it.
