Sony, in an effort to attract more developers to the PlayStation 3, has slashed the price of the Developer's Kit to $10,250. This price is around 50% less than the original price.
Sony said, "As more and more new titles are developed for the PS3 format, SCEI will significantly reduce the price of the Reference Tool in order to contribute to the cost saving measures of the development community."
If you're an amateur developer looking to break into the business, maybe you should get yourself a new PS3 dev kit (instead of a car) and learn to code on the Cell processor. You'd be a rare commodity in the industry!
