Sony is experimenting with Web 2.0 (or is it 3.0?) and shared user content with an unlikely game: Mainichi Issyo. The Japan-only PSN download, which has been growing via updates and download content since its launch opposite the PS3 system in late 2006, got an update today that adds the ability to capture, save, and upload gameplay videos.

First, the basics for those who don't keep up with the Japanese game scene. Mainichi Issyo is a communication game in which players interact with Sony's Japanese mascot, Toro. The game includes mini games, a news service, and plenty of microtransaction-based items to make up for the fact that the basic download is free.

With the new update in place, you'll be able to go into the main menu and select to switch into a recording mode. While in this mode, you can toggle recording on and off by pressing the select button.

Go back into the menu to turn off recording, and the game will give you two options for saving your footage. You can select to save the footage as an XMB video, allowing you to view it later by selecting it from the PS3's system menu. Or (and here's where the Web 2.0 stuff comes in), you can have the PS3 upload the video to YouTube, allowing viewers throughout the world to see your clip.

When uploading your clip to YouTube, you simply input your YouTube account's username and password and add an optional comment which will be displayed alongside the clip on the YouTube page.
