Sony Not Rushing PlayStation 4

The president of Sony's Worldwide Studios, Shuhei Yoshida, told IGN there's no rush to produce a PlayStation 3 successor.

With Nintendo revealing its next console at E3 2011, gamers are wondering if Microsoft or Sony might accelerate the timeline for launching their next generation of consoles. Yoshida said he "[does] not feel the need to introduce a new PlayStation console" at this time.

Sony's E3 focus will be primarily on PlayStation NGP, its successor to the PSP. Don't expect a reveal of PlayStation 4 anytime soon.

That's good to hear. I don't want to see a new Sony console anytime soon (much invested into PS3).

Plus I doubt the Wii2 will be better than the PS3. The PS3 has Blu-Ray.

I don't think it will because the games for PS3 are better, I don't care about Blu-Ray (though it does make it better :whistling: ).

I think the non-portable gaming console market is pretty much saturated with Wii, 360 (and Kinect) as well as PS3 and other older consoles.
Good thing Sony has foresight and is actually strengthening one of their best products, the PSP.

I think a lot of gamers are waiting for PSVita (previously NGP) to be released as an upgrade to PSP and PSP Go. With Wi-Fi, 3G and a ton of other features, I think PSVita will be a new hit, and making sure this becomes the next big thing is much more important than focusing on PS4, at least for now.

I for one am glad Sony and Microsoft aren't rushing their new systems just because Nintendo is putting out their new one soon. I'm perfectly satisfied with the systems currently available. But overall, Sony and Microsoft don't need to put out a new system the way Nintendo does.

I watched on ElecPlay/Eectric Playground which is a Video game tv show that the PS4 might be coming out on 2012, and the PS4 will also have a motion controller similar to the Xbox 360 Kinect.

I don't really care if the PS4 comes out latter or sooner since I don't own a PS3, so if the PS4 comes out there most likely be a price drop on the PS3 which means I can buy one for a cheaper price.

technically move could easily be kinect if they put in the eye toy.

The EyeToy was like the Kinect, but Kinect just made it better because EyeToy for PS2 SUCKED.
