PS4 users are reporting (via Zuby_Tech on Twitter/X) that Sony Interactive Entertainment has been sending a new promotional message directly to PlayStation 4 users via the “From PlayStation” notification in the system menu. The message seen in the image above is dated 20/01/2026, and it is meant to convince remaining PS4 owners to upgrade to the PlayStation 5, based on both recent popular releases and upcoming titles that can only be played on the current-gen console.
The PS5 was launched on November 12, 2020. The console has been available for over 5 years.
