I have finished yet another anime and this time it's soul eater. This anime is full of unique characters, has excellent animation, and is made by bones studios (who animted FMA and Darker than black). And just like FMA this was a story they made up while taking a few things from the manga. I suspect they will make another SE series once the manga ending is in sight.

Here is a description from the wiki:

In Soul Eater, meister Maka Albarn and her weapon partner Soul Eater are students at the Death Weapon Meister Academy (DWMA, Shibusen) or simply the Academy for short—located in the fictional Death City, in Nevada, United States. The school has many other students including Black Star with his weapon partner Tsubaki, and Death the Kid with his weapon partners (who are sisters) Liz and Patty. The school is run by Shinigami, Death himself, as a training facility for weapons and the human wielders of those weapons, the meisters. Maka's goal, along with the other meisters, is to have their weapons defeat and absorb the souls of 99 evil humans and one witch, which will dramatically increase the power of the given weapon and turn them into death scythes, weapons capable of being used by shinigami. In the universe of Soul Eater, witches are powerful beings and the natural enemies of DWMA, as almost all of them have a destructive nature and desire anarchy.

I highly recommend watching this anime as it has great battles and awesome OP and ending songs. so if you see it in stores, get it! (as online versions are pretty cheap.)

Honestly... It's kinda childish. I am not talking about the plot but rather the animation. Somehow the art is really... Well not great

It's funny because I actually watched Soul Eater about the time this topic was posted. I really loved it and the concept was really unique. It's also one of the few animes that I had the opening and closing on my iPod. It's also one of the few animes that I kind of want to go back and watch because I hardly remember what happens.

I agree, the openings and endings in Soul Eater are spot on, have them on my phone as well.

I agree its not high standard but it has a lot of charm to it.

I watched it till the end to see the ending.
It's not that bad but...it's just ....well...it' the same feeling that I got from hellsing...it's difficult to explain.

If you only watched the anime, then just know it goes on its own about half way in and did an original anime ending (much like hellsing did I believe.) The manga has finished on a better ending

I am thinking of reading soul eater manga but the art is scaring me. I don't want to judge it based on the art but I would prefer a better art in a manga.
I will add it to my watchlist for now.
