Sounds on or off playing games?

When you play games, do you prefer to have the sounds on or off? & why?
I turn the Music off as it can be distracting. I do like the sound effects however as it helps me to hear & not just see what’s going on.

Sound on unless it's really annoying, though it is not often a find video games sounds annoying.

Only if I find it to be helpful. Sometimes I like it off when people are around.

It really depends on the time of the day and whether the sounds are needed. For example for games like Fortnite, I prefer to have the sound even if it is somewhat low so I can hear things that help me in the game.

For games where you do not really need the sound, I tend to not always need the sounds for those so if it is at night, I tend to have them off if they are not needed.

Well, currently I'm playing Hogwarts: Legacy and I want the sound on for that. I want to hear the characters talking to me when I'm interacting with my character so that requires the sound on.

If I don't like the background music on the game then I'll have the sound off.

Playing video games with sound off is like watching a movie or TV with sound off as well without even a subtitle. I will not enjoy playing the game. If the sound is annoying for those with me, I'll use headset.
