Things have been fairly quiet on the Spelunky 2 front since it was announced in 2017, but developer Derek Yu said earlier this year that a release date announcement was getting "closer and closer." Today he delivered the goods, announcing during Sony's State of Play livestream that the game will be out on September 15. The release date trailer only makes mention of the PlayStation 4 version of the game, and Mossmouth confirmed on Twitter shortly after the end of the State of Play event that we'll have to wait a little longer for it to arrive on PC.
