If I were to get a spin off for any character, I would probably want a spin off for Itachi, rukia, and others as well. What about you guys?

I swear half of your posts mention Itachi.

I’m probably taking this a bit more seriously than most, but I tend to dislike these conversations as most people usually (but won’t admit) that they basically want glorified fanfiction for these types of shows.

They usually just pick characters that they fanboy over without thinking “would this actually work or be good?”. It’s never a character that would actually make a spinoff work.

Let’s just use SAO as an example. Most people would jump on the “wouldn’t it be great if Asuna had her own series?” No, it’d basically just be Kirito stories, but replaced with Asuna. Sinon would actually work, but it’d just be SAO Alternative, but starring Sinon if that series didn’t already exist.

Sigh.
Well I believe he deserve a little more screentime and I really admire him. So what's wrong with mentioning the same? Hmm... But I don't think most of my posts got itachi's name in them.

I just did a quick search and you mentioned him 8 times in the past month, and you have three pages of posts mentioning him. That’s kind of an unusual number just for one character on a forum not dedicated to a franchise.

Excluding my personal opinions on him as a character, I don’t think he really needs more screen time that would really add much of anything to the story besides just getting more screen time because you like him.

Just because you really like a character doesn’t mean more screen time will do anything.

I don't think there's anything wrong with wanting spin-off series based on characters you love. It doesn't even matter if its retelling the same story from a different perspective.

The Toaru series did it with Misaka and now Accelerator. DanMachi did it with Ais Wallenstein. Baccano! had over a dozen characters, each being the protagonists of their own stories. Same for Durarara!, albeit to a lesser extent.

You say Sinon would work while Asuna wouldn't, but isn't that because you like Sinon more? Mother's Rosario was actually more focused on Asuna, with Kirito merely having a supporter role. She dealt with issues Kirito didn't deal with, and handled things in ways Kirito most likely wouldn't have.

I don't think ANYONE can say for sure that a spinoff will or wont work. But again there's nothing wrong with liking a characters more than others, and wishing to see of/about them.

My opinion on Asuna vs Sinon actually has very little to do with why I think Sinon would do better, it has to do with GGO, and honestly, it would only work if they didn’t make a GGO spinoff because it would be redundant if they did it now.

So I would suggest you put more thought into things before jumping on the accusation train. You might be onto something if I mentioned Sugu or Lizbeth.

I'll give you that. And just a suggestion, but perhaps you should do the same before bringing up words like "fanboy" in a casual discussion. I don't believe you get to decide that X number of posts about X character on X forum is unusual or not. Same for the person being a fanboy/girl (note how I didn't try to push the Sinon point after you expressed your dislike of my assumption).

Regardless, the main point of my post, which you conveniently ignored, is that your opinion about which spinoff would work (which isn't even the point of this thread) is just as relevant as anyone else's here, including mine. If you told me there could be a SAO (GGO) spin off without anyone from the main cast some time ago, I would have called bullshit.

Anyway, back on topic, there are a looooot of spin-offs I would love to see.

Durarara! - A series more focused on Izaya and Shizuo who I believe are by far the most interesting characters in the show. Something on Celty's past would also be pretty cool, but I doubt she would be the same person we know.

Baccano! - Isaac and Miria for the lulz.

Sunday Without God - Hampnie Hambart
cause I honestly thought he would be the main character here, dude was badass and cold af, and just found out he had a daughter. That could have been pretty interesting.

Death Note - L cause I would have loved to see him working on "normal" cases and resolving them.

Just a few out of hundreds I could write about.

I have never heard anything like that even in AMF.
Of course I claim to be itachi myself but..I don't usually talk only about itachi ;_;
Guess I should take notice of my posts a little
