Nintendo's newest Direct presentation is set to take place on August 10, slated for the developer's usual 6 A.M. PT start time. Nintendo's announcement for the Splatoon 3-themed Direct promises "roughly 30 minutes of updates" about the sequel during the livestream.

I have tomorrow off so I'm definitely gonna watch it. I just wonder what they can possibly show for 30 minutes in Splatoon. Unless it's just 10 full games of Turf Wars.

Here's to maybe a collector's edition in more places than South Korea, and more info on gameplay.

I think it would have more info to follow rather than just gameplay, as they might call it Splatlands where they are streaming for fictional purposes. But you could be right and all we are seeing is the VS gameplay with every weapon and skill.

I wonder how man Splatoon games they will make, but as long it is popular they will keep creating it.
Splatoon mobile any day now hehe. I think they will continue to make them until they want to work on their old IPs again and have too much on their plate. Or if Splatoon somehow becomes less popular. But then there would need to be another fun shooter like Kid Icarus to take its place.

Honestly, it looks super awesome. I'm kinda iffy about the new way you get weapons from Sheldon, but that's also because I don't play a whole lot due to my internet. So my weapon choice will be... limited. Either way I'm really excited to try out more than just turf wars and Splatfests. Speaking of which, I'm interested in seeing how the new Splatfests are going to work.

Direct above and some info:

Splatoon 3’s Tableturf Battle features the same competitive Turf-based battle system to a Tetris-like mini-game. Players go head-to-head playing distinct cards earned somehow in-game that allow them to cast specific Tetris blocks onto the playing field. The same principle applies here as it does to Splatoon’s regular Turf Wars, where players want to occupy as much of the area with their own ink as possible. Tableturf Battle does this with particular block shapes in over 150 collectible cards, meaning that players will likely fare better if they have taken the time to build their deck.

That card aspect sounds really fun to people that want to try this game first, like me. Everything I've seen from some Twitter posts and Youtube links makes this game feel really promising and in a vibe of its own.
