Ubisoft revealed Splinter Cell: Blacklist today at Microsoft’s E3 press conference. In this entry of the Splinter Cell series, Sam Fisher returns and is placed into the dangerous region along the Iran-Iraq border. There, a group of rogue nations plots to bring the war to America after years of conflict and occupation.

The combat is fast, furious and brutal. Fisher uses both melee attacks and gunplay to take out targets “quickly and fluidly.” Kinect integration can be used to call unaware enemy soldiers over to you to launch surprise attacks.

Strategic Mission Interface – or SMI – is an in-game operating system designed to help Fisher make decisions and complete objectives on the battlefield. Mark and Execute also makes its return from previous Splinter Cell titles.
The classic adversarial multiplayer mode Spies vs. Mercs also makes its return to the Splinter Cell franchise after its notable absence in Conviction.

I absolutely stink at games like this, but I'm getting this one and this year's Ghost Recon. If Ubisoft is willing to make a committment to Kinect, then I'll support them. I'm convinced that they'll be able to combine what they've done in Ghost Recon and Blacklist for a Kinect FPS in the next few years. That would be my ideal game.

I agree I'm not the best at the stealth games. I don't have the patience to sit and wait on the enemy. I guess I'm just eager to kick some ass. The Splinter Cell games are definitely for a niche market. It's right along side Metal Gear Solid, but I'm not very good at this genre. Maybe with a little practice I can become a stealth assassin.

I liked the trailer but I don't know, I miss how Splinter Cell games used to be :( but don't get me wrong, if I hear people ranting and raving about this then I'll without a doubt eventually get it, just not on release.

I'm with soulglazed here. It didn't seem very stealthy at all. As a matter of fact, it seemed more like a movie than anything else...in the bad way. In the demon, the game killed enemies for you at the press of a button in three different ways! There was the "Execute", then the Kinect commands...if you ask me, that's really annoying. Why do games nowadays forgo any semblance of challenge in order to wow the masses with simple displays of badassery that are cool to see but you're not actually doing yourself? I don't like this trend in gaming in which you just press X to win.
