Square Enix's latest product unveiling took place not in Tokyo, but as far away from Tokyo as you can get. The company unveiled two new games titles today at an Online event held in the Square Enix Members Virtual World 3D space.

The two new products are DS games and not, as you might have suspected given the setting of the unveiling, PC games. Two new Chocobo games are on the way for Nintendo's ubiquitous portable.

Set for release first this Fall in Japan is Cid and Chocobo's Mysterious Dungeon, an port of the Wii game that was released in America as Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo's Dungeon. The DS version, while obviously taking a hit in the visuals, will offer new elements, most notably a story told from the perspective of the Final Fantasy hero, Cid. Square Enix is also adding new jobs to the game and will be giving Japanese players a chance to vote for the new inclusions.

Square Enix will follow that title in the Winter with a sequel to Chocobo to Mahou no Ehon, the DS title that's known in America as Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo Tales. The new game adds the subtitle The Witch, the Girl, and the Five Heroes. While further details weren't provided, the game's producer promised a title where players adventure not on a 3D field of play but in a picture book.

Both games are currently Japan only.
