Square Enix has announced today that Dissidia Final Fantasy NT will soon receive its last major update in arcades, as well as on PC and PS4. The news dropped earlier today in a Japanese developer stream, as reported by RPG Site.
The game’s main arcade version is due for its last update this week. The same patch will be available on PC and PS4 on March 5. It’ll add Ardyn as a playable character, and make a few last balance changes, but it’s going to be the game’s last.
Despite ending support, Dissidia Final Fantasy NT servers will remain online for the foreseeable future. Square Enix is not working on a sequel, and said that servers won’t be available forever. The director of the Dissidia game series Takeshi Arakawa, also stated there will be no further games for the series, which given that each game release saw half the sales of the previous version, is sadly a no-brainer.
