The Tokyo Game Show announcements keep on coming. Joining Sega, Konami and Level-5 from yesterday, Square Enix and Ubisoft shared their lineups today.
The two publishers, incidentally, have some ties. In Japan, while Ubisoft is an independent publisher, Square Enix serves as its distributor.
Here's what Square Enix is promising for the show.
* Front Mission Evolved (PS3/X360/Win): Playable & Video
* Kingdom Hearts Re:Coded (DS): Playable & Video
* Lord of Arcana (PSP): Playable & Video
* Tactics Ogre (PSP): Playable & Video
* The 3rd Birthday (PSP): Playable & Video
* Mind Jack (PS3/X360): Playable & Video
* Final Fantasy Legends (Mobile): Playable & Video
* Call of Duty Black Ops (PS3/X360/Win): Video
* Deus Ex (PS3/X360): Video
* Lara Croft Guardian of Light (PS3/X360): Playable & Video
* Final Fantasy XIV (PS3/Win): Video
* Final Fantasy XI (PS2/X360/Win): Video
Outside of these games, Square Enix will have its usual video presentations. Of particular note is the company's "closed" presentation, which will be shown exclusively to those lined up to play The 3rd Birthday and Re:Coded. This is where attendees will get a long awaited glimpse at Final Fantasy Versus XIII and Agito XIII. It will be a short glimpse -- just a minute split between the two games, but it will apparently be heavy on real time gameplay footage.
Square Enix will likely add more titles to its list as the show approaches. As an example, the DS saw a remake of SaGa 3 announced today. We're going to place our bets that this will make it to the Square Enix booth in some capacity.
Ubisoft has just two games set for demo. Assassin's Creed Brotherhood (PS3/X360) will have a multiplayer demo. H.A.W.X. 2 will have a single player demo, but we're not too concerned because the game will have released here in America before TGS starts.
You might think that an overseas publisher is incapable of drawing big crowds at an event like TGS. Not so for Ubisoft. Last year, visitors waited hours to play games like Assassin's Creed II, in part because of the free exclusive t-shirts being offered. Ubisoft will be holding the t-shirt offer this year as well.
TGS will kick off on September 16 at the Makuhari Messe just outside Tokyo. We'll be reporting from the show, so look forward to coverage of all things Square Enix and Ubisoft.
