In a document outlining its plans to integrate Eidos, Square Enix has revealed some interesting sales figures for its key franchises. Coming in at the top spot is (obviously) Final Fantasy with 85-million games sold. This is followed by the Dragon Quest franchise with 47 million and Kingdom Hearts with 12 million.
Those are some staggering numbers that any publisher would be envious of. Adding two big Eidos' franchises like Tomb Raider (30 million) and Hitman (eight million) should give the company an additional boost in the Western world, but I'm more curious to see what the company does to meld its talents. Incorporating strengths from the East and West (like Sega plans to do) is a difficult challenge, but the results could be remarkable.
