Do a barrel roll in HD!

Barrel roll in star fox is actually called Aileron roll, a useless maneuver in real air to air combat as you don't change you fighter's heading at all lol you need to change you heading/trajectory to avoid a shot. The real High G Barrel Roll is actually useful in air to air combat, a last-ditch defensive maneuver, performed when the bandit behind you has achieved a good firing solution to cause an overshoot.

However in Star Fox, the Arwing generates defensive shields while doing the Aileron roll thus it's a useful defensive maneuver. But they should have just called it Aileron roll lol "Do an aileron roll in HD!"
