It’s here. It’s finally here! It only took till 2015, but the Star Trek Communicator has been made and it works. You can thank The Wand Company for this gem of a device.
This communicator has a Bluetooth in it and is an exact replica of the one the Star Trek Enterprise team used to get Scotty to 'beam them up.'
The Wand Company, which makes tons of cool little gadgets, says the communicator was made with a 3D printer. They used it’s scanning to ensure that every little detail was replicated perfectly. It also comes with a neat little stand that holds the communicator and acts as a charger.
This communicator might not be able to communicate with outer space, but it has a ton a cool features on it. First off you can connect to any device via blue tooth. It also has a speaker so you can stream music and play it wherever you are. And for those Trekkies out there, the device even comes pre-loaded with authentic Star Trek sounds, so you will feel like you are actually one of the crew.
Speaking about the device, Chris Barnardo, co-founder of The Wand Company, said, “With Star Trek’s 50th anniversary next year, we were thrilled to be able to make a real working Communicator, something we know the fans have dreamed about owning since it was first used in the show.”
The communicator will make its debut at this year’s comic-con and should be on sale sometime shortly after that.
