If you needed a reason to get Street Fighter X Tekken for the PlayStation Vita, here's a pretty major draw: Cole from Infamous.

Capcom announced at E3 2011 that Street Fighter X Tekken is coming to the PSVita. In the short demo they showed off, Ryu faced off against Cole McGrath the brooding electricity infused hero of Sony's critically acclaimed Infamous series.

Cole has both electric and whirwhind attacks, and he looks like a more projectile fighter, putting him more in the Street Fighter gameplay camp.

it looked awesome.

I remember my favourite fighter on Tekken was Yoshimitsu. In Tekken 3, I think he was pretty much unbeatable if played properly with sick combos.

It would be great to see Street Fighter cross Tekken released. I think other than for PSVita, it will also be made available on PS3 as well as PC.
Awesome game and I can't wait to get a feel of it.

PC too? I didn't hear about that! Was this confirmed or are you saying it's a possibility.

It says there that SF x Tekken is going to be released in PC since Capcom is PC-friendly.
Not sure. I could be wrong though, or things may have changed since this article is dated 11th April, 2011.

Oh wow, thanks for the update. I knew Street Fighter was being released for the PC but not SF X Tekken! Awesome news!

Well, I like the fact that Sony is making a point to have their franchise icons put into games as of late. It sort of puts a stamp on products saying "we're the ones you should buy"

However, for fighting games in general this doesn't bode well. Now the genre is dependent on dream matches to survive. I'm just waiting for the day Guilty Gear or Blaz Bluz get put into the mix. If they can make Capcom vs Snk happen and SF vs Tekken happen, there's no way that Sammy's games can't be included at some point.

But again, this just lays home the point that the genre is becoming stale

Well they're just discussing about it.
I really hope it's true because I'd love to play that on a PC.

Well of course you could see it that the passion for fighting games have depreciated, and that is why they are congregating fans of two games, Street Fighter and Tekken, into a single game to sell it.
I still think that fighting games like Street Fighter have survived a long period of time and that is why they are a classic. I don't think this genre is losing its appeal. It's merely a collaboration between the two I guess. Or perhaps I'm just an optimistic Street Fighter fan.

Well yeah, some franchise can survive regardless due to their long standing history. But the problem is the fact that fighting games are now dependent on dream matches. When they have no more combines they can throw to the fans, then what?

I'm not sure what you mean by dream matches. There's limited stuff that you can do in "fighting" games.
Just look at UFC and WWE games, it's similar except that it's 3D, you can walk further into the background and nearer into the foreground. There's not much difference from SF series other than that.
If new games are being created that are similar in concept (you cannot really differ in these sort of games, I think), and they are popular, then I don't see possible depreciation of this genre as a whole.

Long story short, dream matches are fights that otherwise weren't possible at one time or another. But as for the depreciation of the genre, I already explained it.
