Earlier this month Frontline Studios announced their intentions to release Pandemic's Battlefront 3, by releasing the game for free under the title Galaxy in Turmoil they hope to avoid a cease and desist from EA. Now whether or not they see this project through to release it got me thinking about Pandemic who reportedly were 99% done with Battlefront 3.

They released some fun games, Mercenaries, LotR Conquest, Saboteur, and Battlefront obviously. Outside of their takes on multiplayer and Star Wars they weren't necessarily cutting edge, but they made some awesome games. Pandemic is the studio I wish I got to see more from, does anyone else remember a studio who's closure was a bummer.

Rareware studios, if only they stayed with Nintendo.

Irrational Games, Bioshock Infinite remains one of my favorite videogames to date. Hoping Ken Levine is able to set up a studio and give us another gem of a game.

I completely forgot they closed (downsized?), it was a huge surprise to me when they did especially after how successful Infinite seemed to be in sales and reception. They are responsible for some really intelligent games though, so hopefully Ken can deliver with whatever team he is working with.

3DO. Not sure what really happened to them, but I remember their splashscreen was on all of my early favorite games. But I really miss Bioware, which is technically still around, but is not just another corporate development house with no soul. When they were doing BG and NWN, they were pretty unique.
