Super Mario Bros 3 No Mushroom

Have you ever beaten the game without the taking the mushroom? I know there's this one stage that requires a raccoon in order to beat it. So far I'm on world 6 with 20 something lives.
 
I have never tried it. I did it on Super Mario Bros 1. This is more of a challenge for my friend who plays SMB 3 all the time.
 
I just found out that there's another stage that needs a raccoon, which is the castle in world 7. There some tricky parts in the game that makes you wish you had a mushroom but still beatable without it. The star is not allowed either.
 
Never tried it, so I wouldn't know.
 
I dont really like to make up challenges like that. I just like to have fun.Thats why i hate timers.I'm dissappointed theyre putting one in Super Mario
 
Good gawd Luis, that's Super Mario Bros. 3 suicide. I would be quite interested to watch a video of somebody beating a level that "requires" the Raccoon power up.
 
It's impossible to beat the two stages that needs the raccoon. Probably with an undiscovered glitch you can. This is a good challenge for people that said this game is easy. It doesn't make it crazy hard but the difficulty is raised a little.

Oh, so it's just beating the stages that don't require flight, that makes sense then. I should've thought of that earlier, heh. It sounds like an interesting challenge, would definitely make me rip my hair out of my head.
 
I beat it today. 6-5, 7-Castle, 7-7, and 8-Castle are the stages that needs a powerup in order to beat it. I will do a no mushroom run in New Super Mario Bros Wii.
