So despite my issue outline here, I have finished and greatly enjoyed Super Mario Odyssey. The levels were vibrant, fun, the throw back to mushroom kingdom and all the SMB type puzzles was a nice burst of nostalgia, specially the original jump man game in Donk city. I haven't fully played everything, but enough and watched youtube videos to leave me satisfied, I may just pick this game up randomly to knock out a few things or further increase my blood pressure on the dark moon.

Anyone here else play this game?
 
This was my first game I got for the Nintendo Switch, it was fun to play, but it sure had its unforgiving moments. Only 2 games that I've finished completely were 'Super mario galaxy' for wii, and 'super mario sunshine' for gamecube. I do plan on 100% for this game, but that might take a while to do.

There sure were tough moments in the game, like Dark moon... haha

I've seen the punishing videos on youtube for odyssey, I have no desire for that.
 
I randomly play this game as well when I feel the need to play. There are a lot of fun things to do in this game, like get different suits from each level, especially when you have to wear a suit for each level to help get some of the power moons.

I had some free time the other night and booted it up again, enjoyed a few levels before getting sick of it again.
 
I don't get sick of it, I'll just randomly play it until I get a new game for my Switch and then I'll put all my focus into the new game for a while.
