Welcome to my first review, huzzah. In this review, we'll be looking at Super Mario Sunshine, and decide wether or not it's a good game.

---Story---
One day, Mario, Peach and Toadsworth (New Character) decide to take a vacation on Isle Delfino. They get a commercial showing all the fun you can have in the park, and Mario starts daydreaming about the aforementioned "Succulent Sea Food." Later, they take a bumpy landing on the airstrip, due to a massive blob of "icky paint like goop" sitting in the middle of the airstrip. They all get out and Mario (you) sets off into another wild adventure to collect what are named Shine Sprites.
Overall, 6/10.

---Controls---
You press the A button to jump, B button to flinch/talk to people/slide(while running). R button has you use F.L.U.D.D. X button switched between Spray and Hover/Rocket/Turbo(once the last two are unlocked). Y button goes into second person view, where the camera is placed pointing over Mario's shoulder, and you are locked in place unless you jump, use the secondary nozzle, or press Y again. Press Z to see the map. C stick changed the camera i believe, i forgot what it actually does because i haven't played the game in a while. Sue me.
L button centers the camera behind you, or when it's already behind you, lets Mario strafe.
I give it a 9/10, it's a bit too cluttered, with pretty much every button doing something.

---Gameplay---
The main goal is to collect all 120 Shine Sprites, and clean up all the goop on Delfino. There are a few secret moves, but i won't be telling you all of them. One is the super slide. Switch to your Spray Nozzle, shoot a bit of water in a straightaway(like the area in the plaza with the shops), and then press B while running at the water to slide across, now hold the direction you want to move in while still sliding on the water, in this case, probably up. You are now going as fast as the Turbo Nozzle. Back to gameplay, Mario jumps decently high, and can go a little bit higher with the Hover nozzle, often making situations where you jump, use the Hover Nozzle and grab a ledge, but barely. Then comes the goop, you spray it with any nozzle to clean it up. Some goop is colored as fire, some as oil, some as c--hocolate. In the middle is a big volcano looking object, where if you keep it up to pressure with water for a while and a Goopirahna Plant will pop out, and you have to spray it in the mouth 3 times to finish it off, in some cases 6.
There are 7 worlds, with what are known as blue coins. As you progress, you can talk to a Raccoon and trade 10 blue coins for 1 Shine Sprite each, racking up to a total of 240 blue coins in the game, 30 each level(Including Delfino Plaza, as the Plaza has 19 coins, the airstrip has 1, and the final level has 10, i say the plaza counts).
Each world has 8 main Shine Sprites, and 1 to 3 hidden ones. (100 coins mission, the secret levels' red coins and one hidden shine.) Besides the final world, so that's around 9 to 12 Shines per level.
The 7th mission of a level is always a fight against Mario's doppleganger, Shadow Mario. Shadow Mario is also a new character, who is silent, as is Mario. He has a long tounge (as seen in the intro to world 4's cutscene) and weilds a magic brush, and is the one causing the island to get dirty.
Eh, overall 9/10.

---Graphics---
Graphics don't really have any effect on a game. 0/0.

---Music---
The music is amazing for every side level, like VS Shadow Mario, or the secret levels. Otherwise, each level's music is a remix of the overworld (Delfino Plaza) theme.
Pretty much a 7/10.

Now for the overall score for this game.....

8/10!

Pretty much everything about this game is great, the secret levels and a couple main levels ARE a bit hard, so -1 for that. I really can't find anything else about this game besides the glitches, which i also downrate -1. Honestly, it's a great game, i don't see why it's the LEAST selling Mario game. Get it. Great game. Some hard levels. Some easy.
That's all for my first review.

Seeya next time, bones.

There has been time ive been thinking to play this game but after reading this making me want to go after to wash away all the shadow mario's away.
