swapnote update?

when i went to the eshop to get a demo, i saw an update for one of my games. and swapnote was one of them.
does anyone know what it does?

I believe it adds the ability to have different colors in your notes, instead of just black.

I need help! I can not update for swapnote. I have tried everything.
From scanning eshop QR codes to searching for an hour on the internet,
to asking all of my friends, and even to doing just as the news said to do on my 3DS.
Nothing has worked!!! Even the nintendo shop said there were no title updates!
Please help!!!!!!
