You're probably going to have to do a little bit more than have your sender mark it as "gift" to get this one through customs hassle free. The latest must-have item for the Tales series from across the pond is consumable.
Bandai Namco and convenience store chain Circle K Sunkus announced today in Japan plans for a new real world item based off a food item from Tales of Hearts. Those who want to sample what a real version of the game's Mapo Curry item tastes like will be able to do so at Sunkus locations nationwide starting December 9. Bowls of Tales of Hearts Mapo Curry will go on sale on that day for two weeks. One bowl will run you 500 yen.
The TOH team apparently worked closely with Circe K Sunkus to come up with a proper taste and texture for the food item, and to determine an appropriate package.
Regarding that package, it has Tale of Hearts wrapping, but this is probably not something you're going to want to buy and store away unopened in your collection.
Lucky eaters may end up with such a collectible item, though. Those who buy the curry item will be able to take part in a promotion for a Tales of Hearts themed digital photo frame. This frame comes with an SD card featuring a built-in slide show from Tales of Hearts.
