Tales of Xillia 2 will finally be released on PlayStation 3 in August 2014; North America first on August 19, then European territories on August 22. (The game was originally released in Japan on November 1, 2012.)
The game takes place one year after the world-changing climax of Tales of Xillia, in which the worlds or Rieze Maxia and Elympios were brought together.
Tales of Xillia 2 follows Ludger Kresnik, a chef from Elympios, his brother Julius and their cat, Rollo. Ludger's bloodline possess a terrible power, and together, they set off on an adventure that will affect the recently united worlds.
The game will also receive a Collector's Edition, containing a figure of Ludger Kresnik, an art book, a Rollo the cat metal case, and a replica of the pocket watch.
