How has technology changed in the past? What advancements do you think are for the better? The upside is we have more devices to monitor health. The downside is it takes the responsibility off of the human.

Debateable if its all been for the better, lots of pros/cons but I know it has helped the construction and health industries.

Things like cars/tractors were built to last and maintain. I've seen a statement about microwaves being better in the past. Most of the time it's to do with a very specific task or purpose people just don't get anymore.

I miss when certain devices were made to last, as opposed to being either fragile, or break by looking at them. Things like TV’s and appliances.

Also, does everything need to be smart? Like why do I need a smart fridge, toaster, or microwave? I just need these devices to do their basic tasks.

I miss the durability and reliability of older CRT Tube TVs and monitors because tube tv and monitors I owned are very durable and reliable where they worked without problems for many years of constant use. I used a few LCD monitors where the LCD monitors had dead pixels, and a yellow vertical line which occasionally appear on the screen for some reason.

I also prefer regular watches instead of smartwatches which battery life is a lot shorter than a regular watch. I also prefer the look of the watch face on an analog watch instead of the digital screen on a smartwatch which sometimes does not look as nice.

Look up "Planned obsolescence" when things are made with a limited lifespan so we have to buy more. I also don't believe in the "smart" appliances. I don't want Big Brother monitoring me each time I open the fridge.

Those old style TVs lasted a long time!
I too have a regular watch.
