Emmy voters won't have to worry about keeping up with the remote for their DVD players for much longer. The Television Academy is teaming up with Google to replace the truckload of physical media sent out each year by giving each eligible member a Chromecast.

I wonder if there will be fewer voters for the Emmy Awards since there are still a lot of people who don't have a fast enough internet connections to stream high quality and HD TV shows over the internet.

I'm surprise the emmy awards still use DVDs, and not use Blu-Ray Disc which can record hours of 1080P videos onto a 50GB dual-layer blu-ray disc instead of DVD which video is usually recorded at 480P onto a 9GB dual-layer discs.

blu-ray costs more, it's all about the savings after all.

The Emmy awards are rich, so they can probably afford to spend an extra few dollars on Blu-Ray Discs, and players. I wonder if some TV shows will be more likely to win an Emmy if the shows were recorded on Blu-Ray instead of DVD because Blu-Ray usually has better video and sound quality than DVD, and streaming video from Chromecast.
