Congrats to Temple Run on getting 1 Billion downloads. Temple Run is one of the best running games for Smartphones and tablets.

This reminds me of the old crash bandicoot games on the PS1, I would get this in a heart beat.

I agree Temple Run 1-2 are so addicting espiecally when you try to beat your friends high score which they posted to Facebook or Twitter.

I think it is the fast pace of the game, music, and sound effects which make Temple Run more addicting than other running games.

Honestly all the temple run spinoffs were a lot better. Subway surfer and the despicable me version had a lot more, and were much better animated than the original.

Subway Surfer is a pretty good game. I like that they change the cities, and countries to different scenes over time.

I also like the Top Gear : Race the Stig endless running/driving game. It has some pretty good animation, and is a fun game to play.

Really like Temple Run myself and have put a lot of hours into that game. Don't even know how much, but I know it are a lot. I just find it to be such an addictive game. Once you get a highscore, you want to improve on yourself or your friends and keep going until you reached your goal. It is just awesome to see how far they have come and see them doing great.

Temple Run and Subway Surfers are the only tow games I like to play on my phone. They are addicting as hell. At the same time, though, they are stating to get boring as their isn't much to do except running endlessly and dying .

I have never really been able to get into Temple Run, I guess it is because I can never get past level two. I can see all the people reading this post laughing at me. The part that kills me every time is the trees, its like they come out of nowhere. Of course my kids are great at the game and live to play it, therefore we have every version download on every tablet and phone we own. We have definitely contributed to the one billion downloads.

If it's on the top free list of the app store, everyone will download it. Only reason I downloaded it was because it was in first rank of the store. I didn't really get into it, but I'm not really surprised that the game got a whole lot of downloads. It had some luck to start and snowballed from there.

I never got addicted to this game but I do admit that it is pretty fun. I'm not that surprised that it's so successful because simple games that are made well are very accessible to a lot more people, but I never expected it to be downloaded a billion times. Good for them, I say. I just hope that more developers as competent as the ones who made this game garner the attention they deserve as well.

Temple Run was an easy game to start and was enough of a challenge to keep me entertained. The game changes its environment to be more difficult, which definitely is a good thing! The spinoffs of the game bring more to the table with various other environments and other objectives/tasks to finish. I don't remember how many times I've played all these endless runner games!

Not very surprising. These 'infinite runner' type of games have taken their place in phones/tablets of almost all kinds of users. In class, everyone has some or the other 'infinite runner' game installed (like Subway Surfers, Temple Run, etc.). Besides, the game is actually addictive and will make you play again and again till you reach a satisfactory score. I don't really play any of these games now, but I have to agree that whoever came up with the idea of such a game is a genius.
