Text-based games

In the early 2000s (and maybe the late 90s), I remember text-based games. If there were any graphics, it would had been static images of very poor quality (back then at least).

Do any of you remember playing these?

If so, what ones did you like the most and do you think there is a still a niche for them?

Oh yeah, I think one of them was billy vs snakeman by animecube. Wonder if its still around?

I've never really got into text based games. I feel like they were more popular in the 80's, my mother in law played a bunch on her Commodore 64 lol. I know a moderator over on Sonic Retro made a text based Sonic game lol.

I remember these in the 90's.....I used to play some on my uncle's computer growing up when we'd go visit for holidays like Christmas Eve.

The only text based PC game I played mainly was EWR which was a wrestling game. It was fun for the time.
