The Love and War update to Valve's enormously popular Team Fortress 2 has released and with it comes a slew of new content.

According to Steam News, the automatically applied update adds five new weapons, fifteen new taunts and forty-three cosmetic items to the game.

The update also adds new bread-based weapons via a Bread Box Special Crafting Recipe. The items will no longer be available after July 9th, with Valve promising that items crafted from the Bread Box "have a chance to be strange."

There is a new taunt loadout, allowing players to equip up to 8 taunts at a time, while pressing the taunt key now brings up a taunt selection menu. A taunt category has been added to the Mann Co. Store, along with 15 new taunts.

Other additions to the Mann Co. Store include the five new weapons and a weapons bundle, the merging of Hats and Misc. into a Cosmetics category, and the addition of the Mann Co. Audition Reel - which contains taunts and a chance at an "unusual taunt."

A countdown timer on the Team Fortress 2 website teased a fifteen minute short called "Expiration Date," which coincided with day one of the Love and War update.

The free-to-play shooter released in 2007 has been as profitable for Valve as it is popular with gamers, and has seen many updates and additions since its initial release.

The full list of bug fixes and other features can be found on the Steam website.

Nice update.

Just like I imagined it after watching the Expiration Date video, bread-based weapons! But seriously, how did Valve come up with the idea to add bread into the game, and not normal bread, we are talking about monster bread. Don't get me wrong, it's a fun update, but why bread?  :notright: Does anyone know if those new weapons are marketable? I want to get them during this Summer Sale and sell them at the Market. :P

I loved the movie. I'm glad they're still putting in work for the series since I still play a bunch, and I'm excited to try the new weapons. However I'm hoping something big comes out for the Holiday updates to really bring people back into the game, I feel like they're sloping off since they aren't releasing much new content.

It's a cool update, but at the same time I got to agree with STAR_ a bit on all these updates. I mean, it's "not even a game anymore", pretty much.

It's going more to a style of Second Life, where it's no longer about FPS, but more so about customizing your characters, and dancing......

I mean seriously, this conga stuff is pretty much ruining the game in one way or another. I've heard horror stories of people who got upset about being killed while they were dancing. As if there was some rule saying you aren't allowed to kill people who are dancing. I've even heard of people who got votebanned due to killing someone dancing... Jeez.
