Though the project is still in its earliest stages, Christopher Meledandri, producer, just confirmed rumors of an animated Addams Family movie -- one linked to a famously quirky director.
Meledandri confirmed to ComingSoon.net that the new Addams Family film will definitely be stop-motion, and also mentioned that it will not be based on the television series or the movies. Rather, it will be inspired by the original Charles Addams comics from The New Yorker.
As previously rumored, Tim Burton will be involved in this production – Meledandri hopes it'll be as director, but this is still an uncertain detail. The film may be channeling gothic style by being in black and white, but this detail is also currently not definite.
