Articles mainly because a lot of the comments these days on popular websites seem to be a flame war, trolls, sarcastic, or something dumb depending on which website you are on like most of the comments on YouTube, Facebook, and Celebrity gossip blogs are off topic.
has alot more information than the comments and usually the comments only end up with people whining over something or having a go at one another.

I think it depends on the section on Yahoo Answers since I got some pretty good answers when it comes to Computer help, Electronics, and other technical questions.
But, when it comes to answers about dating, relationship advice, and romance, Yahoo Answers have some pretty bad and weird answers.

Some aren't comments at all, some are just posted retweets..

A lot of comments these days also contain spam with plenty of links to shady websites with conterfeit goods, viruses, and scams in the comments, so you need to be careful on what links you click on comments.

That's true too, and so I guess that the article would be the better safer option of the two.

Yes, the article links are usually safer of the two as long as the writer is not untrustworthy because comments are usually not check for safety since a lot of blogs are set to auto-approve for comments like forums which let guest post comments, or the owner of the blog just approve comment like "Great post, very informative, cool, etc" without checking the safety of the links the commenter has link to.
I also feel more spammer these days are using blog comments to get people to visit their spammy, dangerous and shady websites because spamming by e-mail, social networks, and instant messaging are not as effective any more since spammers e-mails and messages are usually reported and block, or sent to the spam box. Plus, their accounts on Facebook, Myspace, and Twitter are usually deleted quickly because spamming is against the terms of service on most forums and social networks while a lot of blogs auto-approve comments.

Those are usually trolls though.
I usually pride myself on being a cynic, and even though I am of the opinion that most people are stupid, I have a really hard time believing that anyone is THAT stupid.
