Well, ZeniMax Media and Bethesda Softworks are rumored to be hashing out an Elder Scrolls MMORPG. The rumor mill got a-turning after someone noticed the URL for elderscrollsonline.com was registered by ZeniMax very recently. This doesn’t mean much really. I mean, just yesterday TheFeed bought AlamoMMOonline.net just so that we could say we had it.
If this rumor is true, we’re a little worried about losing the great narrative threads that made Elder Scrolls so good, so that Bethesda could for that alluring but soon to be cut-short MMO dollar. Some games are great at certain things and for a company that has staked it’s claim on a certain style and somewhat blazed a path in that arena, to switch it up is risky.
If we can ever get out of R & D on AlamoMMOonline.net, or AMMO as it’s known around the office, you can bet we’ll stick with what makes this first franchise famous – great cut scenes of famous rock and roll musicians peeing on the Alamo walls.
