Read from Bloomberg and Gameinformer:

Ken Kutaragi, the inventor of the PlayStation and former CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment, recently spoke to Bloomberg and gave his opinion on the metaverse,

“Being in the real world is very important, but the metaverse is about making quasi-real in the virtual world, and I can’t see the point of doing it,” the 71-year-old entrepreneur told Bloomberg News in an interview. “You would rather be a polished avatar instead of your real self? That’s essentially no different from anonymous messageboard sites.”

He’s not a fan of wearing VR headsets to interact with the metaverse either, saying, “Headsets would isolate you from the real world, and I can’t agree with that. Headsets are simply annoying.”

As never played any headset I agree anything that looks like a Virtual Boy is annoying but metaverse and virtual avatars for streaming are cool if you never leave your house and want a little fun. The question is how does it merge with social media. Because some allow usernames and some want your real name.

I wonder if he will ever change his mind about the metaverse after the metaverse has more metaverse improvements and updates which make metaverses better, and more fun.

Metaverses can be fun for people who rarely leave home because of health problems, personal reasons, and increase in violent crimes in their neighborhood which they can't easily reduce or fight crime.

I think VR headsets could be less annoying when they are smaller in size and less heavy.

i am not really sure about the metaverse but its definitely getting a lot of attention lately!
