Chapter 1-The Rumblings of a Beginning.
The sky above Lucas' head was the same dull grey it had been for the past few hours. An endless oblivion of damp, misty fog hung over the non-descript city. Broken glass and old newspapers littered the monochromatic pavement. Nothing was good or bad, everything was indifferent. Lucas sat down on a bench, pondering what on earth he was doing in this part of town. Maybe he should go somewhere colourful, a bit more... A loud rumble interrupted his thoughts. The whole ground was shaking. He looked around, nothing seemed to be causing such vibrations. Then he looked up. And what he saw surprised even the psychic youth...
Many millions of miles way, in a different land entirely, a youth prepared to fulfil his destiny by drawing the sword which would bestow upon him the title of The Hero of Time. Link had waited all his teenage years for this. He knew it was his destiny to pull the sword and restore the failing seal which barely held Ganondorf captive. He lay his hands on the hilt of the Master Sword, took a grip, and pulled. Instantaneously, the chamber enclosing the sword began to shake. He and the Royal Family of Hyrule ran outside to see what was going on. But nothing had, they looked up at the sky, intending to praise the godesses, but instead stood there, utterly shocked by what they saw in the sky...
Samus' ship shook violently as she exited the asteroid belt. All her systems were failing, she'd taken too much damage from the explosion of the Space Station Aventure. Her ship started to tilt into a nosedive, and she closed her eyes, preparing for the worst. Suddenly, a sharp tremor ran accross the ship, and then several more. Samus presumed they were equipment exploding, but she opened her eye just to check. And what she saw simply stunned her...
The Pirahna Plant shrivelled up and died under the intense heat of Mario's fireball. Mario then hopped, skipped and jumped over several Goombas before executing a well timed spin to knock the Hammer Bros on it's back. Just a normal day in the Mushroom Kingdom. Toads were running back and forth, carrying messages through the halls of Peach's Castle. Mario took off his hat and entered the thronr room. But suddenly, a large tremor knocked everyone in the room to the ground. Attempting to get up, Mario slipped on some notes, his hat flying off. He dashed outside, expecting to see Bowser in some new contraption. But he wasn't there. Nothing seemed wrong until... Mario looked at the sky and the colour drained from his dust covered face...

Looks interesting, and involves characters from multiple series! Update this as much as you can, it looks to be a good read and this just might push me into actually getting somewhere with mine.

I started to read and was like "Oh yeah, this is neat", and then it went to Link and I got confused. Then as I read on, I figured out what was going on, and yeah... very intrigued now!

Great way to start up a story, you definitely caught my attention!

Did anyone spot the pun in the title of the first chapter?

Sub-Chapter 1- The Falling of Darkness, the Rise of Evil.
Many hundreds of years before, in a dimension beyond the realms of human understanding, Darkness was King. It loomed everywhere and consumed things faster than Light could reclaim them. But Light was clever, and she tricked Darkness into eating a supernova. The raw light energy destroyed the Darkness, but it also did something Light never expected. It created Evil. And so, because of the folly of Light, Evil spread through the dimension and swallowed it up. Then, Evil used it's new-found power to create holes in the fabric of time and spread into every universe. But Light refused to give up. She created a Hero in every universe, born only for one purpose. To fight Evil when it came calling.

Chapter 2- The Everyworld.
Lucas gawped in horror at the crack in the sky. A jagged, smiling crack, running the length of the visible sky had opened up from nowhere. But that's not what scare Lucas. The crack was pulling everything up. Like a vacumn cleaner sucking up a rug, everything in sight was being pulled into the ravenous maw in the sky. Lucas started running, the ground behind him being ripped up from the earth as he ran. But it had caught up with him. He tried to grab onto something, but the only problem was that that railing was being sucked up to. Lucas flew up, spiralling into the fissure that split the sky in two...
Link pulled the Master Sword from it's sheath and stood in front of the Royal Family. He glanced back. Tears ran down Zelda's cheeks as Hyrule was pulled into the gap in the sky. Finally, the ground beneath their feet was pulled from beneath them, and they were pulled into the sky...
Samus frantically checked the dials that were still working. It was imposible. What appeared to be an elongated black-hole had appeared from nowhere, and was pulling everything into it. The G-readings off it were unbelievable. It had broken the last few operating systems. Samus could only watch helplessly as she and her ship, along with what seemed to be the rest of the univers were pulled into the physical anomaly...
Mario ran back into the castle and frantically tried to explain what was happening outside. He and Peach ran out, only to be pulled off their feet immediately. They spun, intertwined, into the air, trying to hold on to something. Mario watched as his hat whizzed past him. Then, the whole of the Mushroom Kingdom was wrenched from the universe, and the chasm in the sky shut with a satisfied "click".
Lucas woke in a small room. The light was blinding, but he could make out what appeared to be.... 2 exact copies of himself. They faded in and out of existence, before disappearing entirely. Suddenly, with a loud pop, 5 more characters appeared in the room. It was obvious they could see duplicates too, as their eyes were stretched in wonder...
"Link, Mario, Pit, Kirby, Samus" said a disembodied voice. "You're probably wondering why I've caused all this to happen... Just bear with me and I'll tell you what's happened" The disembodied voice continued, "Welcome to the Everyworld..."

Sub-chapter 2- The Heroes of Evil.
And so Light created the means for these heroes to be created. These heroes of Light fought many minor evils during their multiple lives, and always prevailed, but never quite defeated Evil. But, Evil had seen Light's plan of her heroes and decided to create his own warriors. People who were so corrupt at heart that they never could be swayed to the path of good. These people then formed the hierarchy of Evil's army. But Light knew what Evil was doing and devised a trick. She forged a fake manuscript detailing that the power that took the mortal form would be unbeatable. She also had prophets lie to Evil about this, and so Evil was tricked into taking human form. So, all the free Evil in the world grouped together. But Evil was greedy. He believed that 1 human would not be powerful enough for him. So he took 6 humans and poured all of himself into them. Light then used the power of the Old Heroes to seal Evil inside these humans. Evil was stuck and could not escape. These 6 became known as the Manifestations, and were named: Pain, Greed, Anger, Lust, Pride and their leader, with the most Evil inside of him, became Evil. These Manifestations spread across time and space, and it was said Evil walked in their very shadows, and attempted to taint all it touched.

Chapter 3- The Weapon in the Basement.
Pit looked around, utterly confused. He'd just been flying around the world and now he was here, in a small room with a light. Suddenly a voice spoke, "As I was saying before... the break... I have brought yoi all here for a very special reas...on... I.... wa...nt...ed.... to..." But the voice was fading away, in tandem with the eerie light. Eventually, there was no light or voice. "Um... Someone hit the lights!" Shouted a female voice from close by. Pit searched frantically for a lantern, but someone else had flicked a switch, and an orb of light appeared on the ceiling. Pit now had the opportunity to observe his companions. One was a short stout man, dressed in red and blue, with a moustache. The other was what seemed to be some sort of robot in a suit, but when it moved further away from the light, Pit could see a females face behind a visor. The other was a boy in a striped top with blond hair. He semmed the most scared of the lot, and kept glancing up from the floor. The other seemed quite confused, and looked confusing too. It was essentially a big pink blob. The last was dressed in a green tunic, armed with an intricate shield and a sword. He and the 'lady in the suit were the most pro-active, blasting and hacking any sort of wall. Pit stood up to help, but realised he had no weapon whatsoever. Suddenly, one of the walls crumbled, and revealed a set of steps leading down...
Link jumped back in surprise as the wall collapsed, revealing a set of stairs. Suddenly, he was knocked aside by what appeared to be a young angel. This angel dashed down the stairs. Link shrugged at the woman in the suit, and together with the rest they followed the angel down.
Samus followed the young warrior in the green suit down the steps. It was funny, she was sure recognised everyone in that room from somewhere. They followed the angel down deeper into the ground...
Pit bashed open the door at the bottom, and it swung outwards, revealing what appeared to be a merry-go-round. The wooden platforn continued spinning, and the paintings of dead spirits gazed upon them, watching there every move.
As soon as Pit opened the door, Mario knew where they were. They were in Boo Mansion, and this was not a nice place to be, any-time. But there was something different. Instead of the usual little pyramid in the middle, there was a pedestal. And in that pedestal, radiating darkness was a black sword. It's jagged edge looked fierce, and it was emblazoned with three gold triangles.
Pit saw the sword, and saw opportunity. There was no way he was going to be the only unarmed person in the room. He made a dash for the sword.
Link started at the sight of the sword. There was no way he could be here, at the bottom of this falling mansion. Link made to grab the angel's tunic, but it was too late...
Pit lay his hands on the sword and triumphantly pulled. But then something unexpected happened. The sword burst into diamonds. The small circular room echoed with insane laughter, and a man appeared between them and the door. "Liberation!" he shouted, and licked his lips hungrily...

Sub-chapter 3- The Binding of Light.
Evil sought revenge for the trickery of Light. She had forced him into 6 weak forms, which could not compare to his previous power. And so, Evil and the other 5 Manifestations began to search for a way to avenge themselves on Light. And so they devised plan. Evil took the Stones of Past, Present and Future and forged them into a hilt of a sword. The Manifestations then placed several spells of binding on the blade, in order to seal Light when they struck her. And so the Binding Sword was forged. Evil gave this blade to Light's son, the Sun. The Sun did not know what to use the blade for, but Evil tempted him to strike his Mother and claim her power for his own. And so Sun comitted this atrocity. Light could only walk where light dominated, and only in a half existence. But the energy of Light was too much for Sun and he began to burn up. But Light punished her son by causing him to burn for eternity. And so, Evil got his revenge on Light for her trickery.

Chapter 4- Ghirahim's Explanation.
The man had pale white skin, and shock white hair which covered on eye. He was elaborately dressed, with a red, high-backed collar around his neck. Samus watched him carefully, as he paced around the room. "Yes..." he murmured, "Yes... I understand..." He appeared to be talking to someone. Samus powered up her arm cannon, and the lights on it flicked from red to green. The man looked up, "Ah, yes, allow me to introduce myself. I am the Demon Lord Ghirahim, General of the Army of Evil. And you are..?" Samus replied gruffly. "Such untempered attitude" Ghirahim continued, "I can really see you becoming a problem..." He clicked his fingers, and a slim black rapier appeared in his hands. He ran his palm along the keen edge of the blade, and disappeared in a burst of diamonds. At once, everyone in the room was on guard, Link especially so.
Mario pulled out a Fire Flower, and Kirby began to inhale...
There was an echo of laughter in the room. "You think you're worth enough of my time to fight? Foolish younglings, I'm a busy Demon! I can't take the pleasure of killing you all now, so I'll have to make amends..." "Just send us home!!" shouted Pit. Ghirahim reappeared in the room, looking genuinely confused. "You think I brought you here? Well... Think again my friends." The thing that's supposed to be your greatest ally brought you here. She, and her folly, is why everyone is here in the first place!" He disappeared again. He reappeared behind Samus, grabbed her by the shoulders and spoke intimately into her helmet. "How does that make you feel Samus? Betrayed? Angry? Scared?" Samus spun around let loose a charged shot with her cannon, but Ghirahim had disappeared again. He reappeared in front of them. "Just who do you think is on your side? Light poured the whole universe into this place, wrecked your homes, and you still support her?" Ghirahim spun his sword in a smooth circle, and disappeared finally. An echoing silence filled the room.

This is great, I like this and I'm following this topic now so I can keep up to date in the future.

Keep up the great work! And put a little link in your signature if you want, it might help out with raising awareness!

Chapter 5- The 4 Doors to Everywhere.
Link pointed the Master Sword accusingly at Pit. "You don't know how much danger you've put us in! Ghirahim is an angry man with a lot of power! He's too dangerous!" Pit backed away and took a defensive position. But Kirby jumped in the way. "Myaweawaoooo!" he shouted indicating the foor doors around them. They were a very strange selection, and Mario knew that none of the doors were supposed to be here at all. One was a high-tech door, with many flashing lights and built from a gleaming metal. One was a plain wooden door with a simple handle. The other was pink, and emblazoned with yellow star. The final was one of a usual design in Boo Mansion, slightly rotting and not at all inviting-looking. "Which should we take?" Asked Samus. Everyone pointed to to the pink door. Immediately, everyone dashed over. Well, everyone except Lucas, who stood there shaking, still not quite over the ordeal with Ghirahim. As they opened the door and were about to leave, Lucas sprinted over and joined them. And, as one, the Heroes of Light stepped through the door into the unknown...
Never had Lucas been as happy to see the grey expanse of his own city. But something was different. And as Lucas observed the skyline, he realized what was missing. There was no sky. Just a black expanse which stretched across the roof of the world. In the distance, however, he could see the strangest things. What appeared to be giant mushrooms were growing through the buildings.
Samus immediately scanned everything she saw. Everything was of unknown origin... except the soil, which was Martian. It was impossible, what was Martian earth doing in an otherwise completely unidentifiable enviroment?! Suddenly a speck of light appeared in the sky. "Watch out!" Shouted Link, and everyone ran for cover. The little ship spiralled towards the ground and crashed with an almighty bang. A dust cloud enveloped the area. Mario was the first to jump out of cover. He looked at the ship. It was red and white, and seemed rather worse for wear.
Samus jumped out from behind the building and scanned the ship. It was impossible. The words "Galactic Federation" were printed on the ship, but it was unlike any ship she'd ever seen. The door of it opened. And out strolled...
Antony Higgs. Buut he wasn't alone. He was accompanied by a tiny man in a classic space suit bearing the name: "Captain Olimar". Higgs bent down and listened to Olimar's instructions. "My captain wishes to see I.D.!" shouted Higgs, a bit too eagerly. What on earth has the Galactic Federation come to?, Samus thought to herself. The others had remained under cover. "Thanks Samus," whispered Higgs. "It's my first day on duty, and I was assigned to the best of the best." Samus looked at Higgs disbelievingly. "It's true! Captain Olimar is responsible for the capture of no lesd than 500 Space Pirates!!" Higgs was interrupted by a call for help from one of the buildings. Everyone rushed over to seewhat was going on.
Link first smelled an awful stench. He presumed it was Lucas, the boy did look terrified, but when he saw Lucas pointing frantically behind them, he realised someone had snuck up on them. He turned around, just in time to dodge the undead creature that was about to bite him...

Chapter 6- The Army of the Second General.
Link sliced at the creature madly, but to no effect. So, he quickly rolled out of the way to where there was space and cast Din's Fire. The spell made short work of the necrotised husk, and obliterated it almost completely, just leaving a pile of ashes behind. Link and Lucas jumped out of the building, not even bothering to find the proper way out. They landed together, raising a small puff of dust off the ground. "We need to get out" said Link authoratively. "There's no way I have enough magic reserves to be continuosly taking those guys out." But Marrio was pointing in the distance. Everyone turned to look. A whole collection of the undead was walking towards them. Link saw Stalfos, ReDeads, Gibdos. Mario recognised Dry Bones, and Samus saw fallen Galactic Federation troops shambling towards them. Suddenly a black helicopter swooped overhead. A man jumped down. He was dressed entirely in black, and had slicked back hair and sunglasses. Higgs shuffled over to Samus. "That's Albert Wesker, General of the Undead. His army is allegedly powered by a virus to which he's immune..." But by now, Wesker had reached them. He raised his left hand, and the advance stopped. He then casually pulled out a bulky hand-gun, took aim, and fired at Mario. Mario dodged but the projectile hit Lucas square in the forehead. Lucas fell immediately. "Watch as your friends die and join my ranks! We are the unbeatable, ever-growing army! Try stop us, Heroes of Light!!"
"Alright." said Higgs, and unloaded a full plasma core straight at Wesker. But, no sooner than had he pulled the trigger was Wesker surrounded by animated corpses. The corpses disintegrated immediately, but their sheer mass of numbers meant Wesker was unscathed. "Fine." he said, and pulled out a second gun. He took aim and fired the whole cartridge straight at Higgs. Higgs didn't stand a chance. Every single bullet punctured his suit. And he fell to the ground.
But Wesker had already turned around. "You won't be joining my army this time! But next time I shan't be so restrained!!" he clicked his fingers and all the creatures sank into the ground.
"Samus..." croaked Higgs, "take my... helmet. It'll... give you an update... to your... scanners." He coughed, sticky blood now coating his chin. "And Samus..... don't get yourself... killed." And he died, smiling. Samus carefully removed his helmet and plugged into her own. Immediately, her scanners were updated. She scanned Higgs' body. The bullets were of an archaic design, and were clearly strengthened by some unnatural power.
Link watched as Wesker walked away, but his train of thought was interrupted by a moan from Lucas. Link examined the projectile in Lucas' forehead. It was the same shape as the tip of an arrow, but had a transparent core, which was filled with liquid. Mario ran over and pulled it out, clearly meaning to help. Lucas jerked spasmically. Samus ran over and scanned. Lucas was infected by a T-virus, mildly however. It had only degenerated 0.01% ofhis flesh, and his nervous system was intact. And so, the group sat down, and discussed what to do next.

I have a funny feeling Higgs'll be back somehow due to his "Remembuh Me?" quote. Good job though, I might have to follow this as well as soon as Skylanders is cleared.

Chapter 7- Evil's Explanation.
And so, the troupe of heroes set off to the unknown. Link took Higgs' helmet, being the only person it actually fitted on. Eventually they reached the tall buildings with mushrooms weaving through them. Mario was at home with the presence of the mushrooms, and neither Lucas nor Samus were too unhappy with the sight of some 'standard' architecture. They reached the building's base. The glass doors slid back effortlessly. In contrast to the rest of the city, the place seemed in quite good repair. And with no invitation, they stepped accross the threshold. At once they were surrounded by people, pleading for their help. Everyone from Toads to Zora were there, all looking for something. But there was the sound of a klaxon, and everyone fell silent. At once, the intercoms crackled into life. "Will all new arrivals please enter the lift." "What lift?" whispered Samus. In answer to her question, the doors behind her slid open with a short ping. But instead of the city they had just walked from, it was a plush elevator. "What....?" Link said to Samus. But Kirby and Mario had already entered the lift. Samus shrugged, and together they walked inside. No sooner than they had entered, the doors slid shut, and the elevator took off. The dials flicked continuously, jumping between random floors. Finally, it came to rest on the top floor. The doors slid open, with more effort than they did before. They walked into a room, what clearly used to be a penthouse, but every possible area was covered with screens. A round control panel in the middle encircled a black, high backed chair. It slowly spun around. "Ah, Samus, Pit, Link Lucas, Mario, Kirby, normally I wouldn't risk sounding clichéd but, I've been expecting ye."
The man in the chair stood up, and the light caught his face. He wore a tall top hat, a mask, an elaborate suit, and a fancy brooch on the top of his tie. But he was divided right into two. One half was all white, the other all black. He motioned with his hand, and seats appeared behind the seats of the Heroes. "My name is Demetric. I'm older than ye could ever imagine, and I have a special name only my enemies call me. And you certainly don't want to be my enemy..." Samus scanned him, and the result astounded her. This man was called Evil. Just Evil, wait there was a footnote on the file. "Prefers to be called Demetric in white mode" it read. Now Samus was more confused than before.
But one thing was for certain, Link thought, this man was the reason they were all here. "So, Demetric," Link asked, "How about you send us home?" "Oh Link," he replied. I'll send you a 360º view of what home looks like for you right now..." He flicked a switch, and all the screens went grey. "Look around Link, look at Hyrule!!" he bellowed and the chamber reverberated. He flicked a second switch. "They're all the same... Mushroom Kingdom... Earth... Skyworld... Assorted regions of space..." "And I didn't even do this! I didn't even want this!!! All of this is my enemies doings!!!! Ahh!!!!!!! ...
Sorry... I got a bit carried away. The whole point is, Light created a huge playground comprised of all the universes into this space between spaces. She took all of time and space and pulled ot through the cracks. Imagine a glass ball inside a glass of water. She punctured the glass, and now all the water's rushing in. All your homes have been pulled, against your will and guess why? Because. She. Wanted. You. To. Beat. Me. Once. And. For. All...
NOT HAPPENING!!! I'm sick of been pushed around by her and so should you! So, Heroes of Light, join me, and we'll lay waste to this tyrant once and for all! I'm the one who's explained everything to you!! Who are you going to trust? The one who destroys your homes?! Or the one who answers your questions?! You decide!! I'll talk to ye again later."
He and the room faded out of existence, and the Hereos were left standing in a dark cavern. "Oh, and by the way," echoed a voice, "doors don't stay connected to the same place for long in this world. You probably won't ever get back to where you started. See ya around, and don't forget my offer!" The darkness faded, and light filtered in from the entrance to the cave.

Trying to get the helmet to fit on Mario is quite a humorous image. Like his face is all smushed and his mustache has gone up his now-stretched nostrils but thankfully you can't see that because the beak of the cap has gotten smushed too and covers it up.

Anyway, an interesting chapter... Will they side with Evil, 'side' with Evil, or just stick to Light? Hmmm...

Chapter 8- The Heroes Divided.
They sat around a fire which they'd made inside the cave. They dared not go outside due to a raging blizzard, which hadn't stopped since Demetric left them. All this free time had given them time to think about things. Eventually, Kirby shouted: "Majiolloweeema!!" Samus shook her head about to say she couldn't understand, when a translation rolled across the bottom of her visor. "Well, what do we do now?" it read. Samus shrugged again, but Link piped up. "Yeah... What do we do next?" Lucas continued looking at the ground, but Mario spoke up. "Well... What about Demetric's offer?" He spoke in heavily accented English. Pit replied: "I'd say he's lying, just to get us on his side. Light's who we should fight for!" However, everyone else wasn't too sure. "Ah c'mon guys!" shouted Pit, "Are you going to trust someone called Evil?! You've got to be joking! Wesker and Ghirahim both refer to us as the Heroes of Light!! Are you really going to side with people like them?!" For the first time ever, Lucas raised his head. "I... I think..." he gulped, "I think... we s-s-stand a... b-b-better chance wi-i-ith those g-g-guys t-t-then j-j-just against them al-l-l..." Pit jumped up. "Are you crazy?!" he bellowed at Lucas, "Those are the kind of guys who'd toss us over their shoulders and leave us behind!!" Link stood up abruptly, and stood between Lucas and Pit. "Leave him alone!!" Link bellowed. Pit backed off, but then Samus stood up. "So you're on his side?!" She shouted at Link. "You're going to join a man named Evil?!" "You know what?!" said Link, "Maybe I am!! All we've been told since we got here by Light herself was 'Welcome!'!! What good has that done us?! None!! She left us clambering the dark by ourselves!! At least Demetric told us the truth!!" What makes you think it's the truth?!" retorted Samus angrily. Mario intervened, "In my, most humble, opinion, I think Demetric was telling the truth too..." "Ah!" yelled Link, "See Samus! We're not the only people who think Demetric's worth an alliance! And according to what Ghirahim said too, Light has been dictating everything we've ever done!! How do you feel about that?! Hm?!" Samus flicked a switch on her arrm cannon, and the lights flicked from red  to green. Link drew the Master Sword and the Mirror Shield. At once, Kirby jumped in the way. "We all just need to calm down" read the translation of what he said. "Fine!" replied Samus gruffly, and sat back down. "You know what?!" shouted Link, "You're right! Handle everything yourself Samus!! Who said we had to listen to you anyway?!" And with that, Link stormed out of the cave. Lucas and Mario took a quivck glance at each other, nodded, and followed him out. Samus, Pit and Kirby stayed where they were.
In a place beyond time, Light wept at the sight of the division of her Heroes.

Alright lads and lassies, it's in your hands now!! Do you want the story to follow the 'traitors', Link, Lucas and Mario? Or stay in the group of the 'faithful' Samus, Kirby and Pit? You've until I next update to choose!!

Oh man... this is an extremely hard choice... part of me just wants to say "Do both!", but if I had to pick, I would go with following the "faithful" side, AKA Samus, Kirby and Pit!

Really, only one reply? I haven't time to fully update now, so everyone who hasn't chosen a branch off had better choose soon!!

When the End Of The Everyworld is nigh,
and all of Light and Evil cry,
the One who has the heart of gold,
will keep these words, forever to be told:
When streams run dry and clouds go dark...
*the rest of the verse has melded into the stone, making it unreadable*

I'd say follow the ones with Light for now, but you made this a hard decision: between Lucas, Mario, Link and Samus, Kirby, Pit. If you can though, I'd like to hear both sides.
