The importance of channel art

Do you think the channel art is important for a YouTube channel? Does the channel banner and social network icons can have a significant importance as far as attracting subscribers and viewers is concerned?

I think it does.  It needs to be consistent too I guess, so people know your brand.

It's extremely important, channel art is what shows people you mean business and it is very professional.

I believe so, makes it look nice and better capture the attention of those passing by.

It's true, but I've seen a few let's players who have outstanding channel art (a lot better looking than PewDiePie's and TobyGames'), but have very few views and subscribers.

Very, very important. The majority of gaming videos are all hosted on YouTube, there are so many that the only way to differentiate yourself from the rest is via quality of videos and also branding. Channel art needs to be the first point that the users see that quality and start to generate that brand image.
