Because as we know, remakes tend to add new glitches as well as bring back many of those found in the original. So here are some of the more interesting and useful glitches, and information about them.

Infinite Heart Pieces

The easiest to use glitch in the game, and possibly the weirdest little bug ever that wasn't caught by the testers, this allows you to get as many hearts as you like in your healthbar.

Well, up to 29 of them any way. Any more will crash the game.

Still, here's how to do the glitch. Simple, just play Dampe's Grave Digging game/tour as many times as you like. No, that's all there is to it, they forgot to make the heart piece you randomly find not respawn after being collected, allowing you to get it as many times as you like and it get counted as a new heart piece every single time.

It sounds good, doesn't it? Have over 20 hearts before even entering Dodongo's Cavern, and have enough health in the end to basically make even Adult Link a walking tank. There's just one minor catch making this glitch annoying... Dampe is really, really slow.

And considering the location is random, and that it takes a few seconds for him to reach the first patch of dirt, the time spent trying to get these extra heart containers could probably be better spent beating the rest of the game. But it's cool none the less.

Get more than four bottles (transform item into a bottle)

Another easy to use glitch, the method to pull this one off is simple:

1. Catch some bugs in a bottle
2. Put the other item you want on the button the bottle isn't set to
3. Release the bugs
4. Catch them again, Link should still be holding the bottle
5. Hold L (doesn't need to be targeting an enemy or object)
6 Backflip and hold both buttons for the items at once

If you've done this correctly, the second item should be replaced with an empty bottle.

But there's a catch. The second item needs to be one that's out of ammunition or unusable. So by default, you can't replace the Longshot or Megaton Hammer, and unfortunately, it seems you might not be able to replace the Claim Check.

But you can replace Deku Sticks, Nuts and Magic Beans, which gives you two easy bottles (because two of those end up being entirely useless when you're an Adult or have run out), and one optional extra one (if you never want to use Deku Nuts again). Presumably, you could also do this for Bombchus and get another easy bottle.

Very useful and extremely easy glitch, and recommended if you absolutely suck at a certain dungeon and need a helping hand via more Fairies than normal.

Use items in areas where they're forbidden

Surprisingly, quite a difficult trick to use with any real precision, since you have to press a certain button at the very first frame after you exit from the item menu.

Still, here's how it's done. Go into an area where you can't use a certain item. Now, put two items on various buttons, one you can use (hint, Hover/Iron Boots normally, perhaps a Bottle or the Lens of of Truth), and the item you want to use on another.

Next, go into the item menu, and switch the buttons the items are set to.

Then, exit the menu, and immediately (aka, in about half a second or so) press the button for the item you 'can't' use in said location. It may help to hammer the button as fast as you can while still in the menu, and use another finger to press the touch screen exit menu button.

You should eventually use the item supposedly forbidden to use. However, you only have it for one frame, so it must be an item that can be immediately used upon a button press.

These items qualify:

Magic spells (Din's Fire, Farore's Wind, Nayru's Love)
Bombs
Bombchus
Deku Nuts

These don't:

Bow/Slingshot
Hookshot/Longshot
Megaton Hammer (will be immediately put away)

Just be warned, this trick only works in areas where some kind of X/Y button can be used at all, and hence won't work in certain shops where all items are disabled.

Freeze the game by exiting Ganon's Castle

Do the above glitch, with Farore's Wind, as you're escaping Ganon's Castle during the self destruct sequence. The minute you arrive at your location, the game will act as if a perishable quest item has spoilt and the game will freeze with music playing.

Swordless Link glitch

Use the glitch to use Farore's Wind anywhere in the final battle, after Ganon knocks away the Master Sword. You'll end up outside the castle (or wherever you used the spell originally) without a sword equipped to the B button, and can do all kinds of neat stuff as a result (like use items on Epona).

Just remember, you have to do anything you want to without turning the console off or resetting the game, since doing so will give Link back the Master Sword and I think also equip the sword automatically.

Sub Glitches of the above

Ghost Link

Become Swordless via the above, and ride Epona. You can now use items while riding, so use either a magic spell, Deku Nuts or a bottle to fall off. You're now intangible to most objects and enemies.

Ride Horse in mid air

Go to anywhere in the above state, and press A. You'll get warped to Epona's back, but your height off the ground won't change, leading to hilarious situations where Link is initially floating above thirty feet above his horse. Unlike in the Nintendo 64 game, your position will eventually reset to normal though.

First Person Camera

Use the Hookshot while a ghost, then use Deku Nuts to get out of the frozen game view. The camera will be stuck in Link's head, allowing you to see the game from roughly Link's perspective.

Freeze the game

Use ghost Link to get off Epona, and go underwater with the Iron Boots (no Zora Tunic), now, press A to warp back to Epona, and the timer will still be ticking! Next, latch onto an item with the Hookshot and wait. If you have a fairy and die from the timer, Link will be revived, time and music will keep going, but the game will be frozen. Reset to escape.

Fly with the Hookshot

When on Epona, hook onto an object. Now, dismount, and Link can fly through the air while connected to the object. Here, you can go anywhere you like, even sometimes outside level boundaries.

To end it, get hit by an enemy or reach the target. You'll fly up about fifty feet into the air and go straight back down to ground level, just like if you'd used some form of rocket or moon jump code.

Carry objects on Epona

Do the ghost Link glitch, pick up and object and press A to mount Epona. Voila, you're carrying objects on your horse. Can't run through

And yes, it looks HILARIOUS when you're holding a Cucco. And more so when you're being chased by them, because it's a guy on a horse holding a chicken being chased around by flying chickens!

Remote Control Horse

No, not a joke, if you use the ghost Link glitch and run around, Epona runs the same way. Of course, she's faster than Link, so it's usually that one ends up one side of the field and one ends up the other, but it's fairly neat regardless.

Escape Ganon's Castle for a short while

Same glitch, except this time warp to the Death Mountain Crater (or another area with an automatic timer). The timer for the area will override the escape timer and you can run around doing whatever you like until you leave the area, at which point the game will crash.

Screw up the Shooting Gallery

Do the above, and get out a bomb while inside. Pay to play the game, and Link will get hurt, letting him move around with the bow, but not fire. Put it away and you'll disable the B button until you leave the area. You also have no access to the item, gear or save menu, since the game thinks you're still playing the mini game. Talking to the man who runs the shop will cause him to say you don't play if you don't want to, and hence you can't replay the game until you leave the building.

Get inside Jabu Jabu as an adult

Just use the Hover Boots and take the path shown in my video, and you'll enter this dungeon as Adult Link every time.

Steal the Fishing Rod/Disable Sword

Enter the Fishing Pond (any age Link presumably), and pay to fish. Now, use the restricted items glitch to get out a bomb in the Fishing Pond, and cast the fishing rod. You'll be damaged and can walk around with the rod cast.

Now, walk to the door, and press A to open it (ignore the button text, it does let you leave).

Congrats, you have an invisible fishing rod temporarily set to B. It can't do anything, and you can't use your sword unless you reset the sword through the Gear menu, so it's near enough useless, but it doesn't freeze the game.

Hookshot/Longshot Clipping

Note that this requires an object which can be grapped by the Hookshot to be the other side of the wall.

To do this, hold L and backflip against the solid surface you want to aim through, and press the button for the Hookshot/Longshot in mid air.

Aim it low (so it visibly goes through the wall) and fire. The Hookshot/Longshot will fire through the wall, and you can theoretically be pulled towards objects the other side of it.

This also works for arrows, letting you shoot through walls.

Triple Slash Glitch

A pretty tricky glitch to use well consistently, and it only works in certain areas, but it's pretty cool. Basically, you can abuse the mechanic that sends you backwards if you put your sword away after a triple slash attack to do various things, like go through walls.

To do this, go to a certain location (the one in Kakariko Village the Youtube video shows is one of the easiest), and then face away from the wall. Then triple slash, and hammer the A button during the third attack to be sent backwards a bit. Keep doing this and you'll go straight through the wall and probably fall into the void behind it.

Uses for the above (other than fall to your death)

Enter the Bazaar while Young Link (from Kakariko Village)

Go to the corner of the house nearest the gate to Death Mountain, the one which holds the bazaar in Adult Link's time, and line yourself up so you're in the corner facing outwards. Triple slash glitch or whatever to go through the wall, and carefully walk around the inside edge of the house (the middle is a bottomless pit) to the door. You'll be in the bazaar as Young Link, although it'll have the same people in as the Market one, and you'll end up in Kakariko Village when you exit.

Multiple Switch Crash

If you hit multiple switches at once, the game crashes, with no music playing and the 3DS likely unable to return to the home menu. It also takes a while to switch the console off.

This was done with two sun symbols in the Spirit Temple, the results shown below:

Free Camera

To get a free camera in most areas with fixed camera angles, use Farore's Wind (see, use restricted items glitch) in the area in question, and then warp to it. This works in many places, like...

1. The market as an adult
2. The entrance to Hyrule Castle Town, as a kid or an adult
3. The back alleys as Young Link
4. The Temple of Time as either Link
5. Dampe's hut

However, it doesn't work in shops and mini games (like the Mask shop) nor the market as Young Link.

Clip through walls with Epona

To clip through various walls after getting off Epona, go through a loading zone to a new area then line up so the wall is on your right. Now, get off, and Link will get off Epona to the right side, regardless of whether anything happens to be there! You can clip through walls and objects with this, although normally Link will get pushed out the way after a short time.

Get Epona stuck in a box

Go to the Gerudo's Fortress. Here, there are various boxes and doors into the fortress, these are important. Destroy at least one crate, and stand Epona where the crate was. Go into the fortress and out again, and the crate will have respawned, getting Epona stuck in the box. She can't move, nor can you ride her, but you can free said horse by breaking the boxes with an item.

Useful Glitches I haven't Mastered Yet

Bombslide

A tricky but apparently awesome glitch, you hold the analogue stick down and to the side slightly, and Link turns in place. Take out a Bomb while doing this, and after it explodes, Link will be sliding in circles at high speed.

You can use this to get places very quickly, and cross dangerous obstacles you're not meant to cross.

Minor, near pointless stuff

Temporary Invincibility from Traps

If you roll at them with the right timing, Link will often go straight through them without getting hurt.
