You are playing, or planning to play, ArcheAge and you still don't know what class to play as? Here is a list of the most viable classes, sorted by their type, including Tanks, Melees, Mages, Archers, Healers, Support.
Tanks
While it is only optional, most of the viable tank builds will include the Defense skillset that not only give them more survivability, but also offers skills that allow them to taunt large groups of enemies.
Battlerage will be a must here, possessing high damage skills that can easily reduce an opponent's health to zero in a single burst.
Mages in Archeage have more options than the other archetypes, with Sorcery focussing on damage, Witchcraft focusing on Crowd Control, and Occultism being a mix of the two. Some of the Songcraft, Auramancy and Vitalism skills will also depend on the magic attack of the character, making them viable options.
Archery will also be an obvious choice, although Shadowplay will also play a great role in the archer builds of ArcheAge, offering great skills like Drop Back and Stalker's Mark.
A good number of options will be available similarly to mages, although Vitalism will be the obvious one, offering a great number of healing skills.
Here again you will have a great number of options for your ArcheAge classes, the best ones being Auramancy and Songcraft if you want to buff your party, Witchcraft and Occultism if you want to assist your party through Crowd Control.
