Having trouble with the free Gold Classics pack of levels you can get for New Super Mario Bros 2, and need help with reaching 30 000 coins? Here's my advice as well as the locations of all the secrets in each level.
Level 1 (the Super Mario Bros 1 1-1 remake)
At the start, hit the ? block above the three blocks and Goomba to make it grow wings. Hit it again for a handy Gold Mushroom!
In the 1-2 remake accessed via the green pipe, you'll get to a section with two Koopas and a brick structure that flies down into your path. One of the blocks near the end holds a star, so get it and plow through all the enemies as Gold Mario for a ton of coins!
A bit further along you'll come across a hook shaped block structure. It looks a bit like this:

The block to the right holds a Gold Flower. Useful if you lose your first one or need another for your inventory.
Additionally, a brick above two clocks and a floating platform holds a Gold Flower. Hit it, then break another brick to claim your prize.
The three pipes with the Piranha Plants hold a secret. Go down the first one (the one to the left) to enter a bonus room with lots of coins and a Gold Mushroom.
To get the Star Coin near the stairs before it disappears, jump on the Red Koopa on the ledge nearby and throw it's shell at the coin from a distance.
At the pipe leading out the 1-2 remake, the same warp zone area as in the original game exists. So climb onto the ceiling and go right to it to find three clocks and a ton of coins shooting out the warp pipes.
But you're not done here yet! No, see that wall of bricks to the left of three warp zone pipes? Smash them with a Gold Flower or a Raccoon Leaf, and you can find a hidden pipe at the bottom of the screen! In here's a giant eight bit Mario sprite made of blocks! Get to the top of it by jumping up the invisible coin blocks (above the green pipe), and you can find two hidden blocks with Gold Mushrooms on its hat!
Back in the main area, don't rush to the flag! No, go back left. As you go you'll see some platforms laid out in the following way:
The block to the top left of the 'gap' holds a Gold Mushroom.
Additionally, just left of the midpoint flag is a green pipe in the air. Jump around to make some invisible coin blocks appear underneath it and to the left, and three Gold Mushrooms will come out of the pipe after a short while!
In the pipe is another bonus area. There's two roulette blocks with coins and a Star Coin, but the bricks start vanishing once you land on them! Get the prizes and the Star Coin!
Near the end of this course you'll find a pipe. Go in to find a version of the traditional bonus room from SMB 1 with lots of coins and another Gold Mushroom (in the rightmost brick).
Finally, the block structure near the flag hides a secret. Drop down just before the flag, and go to the side of the structure. Jump to make an invisible coin block appear, and jump on top of that to make a block with a Gold Mushroom appear. With that collected, jump back on top and get across to the top of the flagpole to be done with level 1!
Level 2 (The Super Mario Bros 3 1-1 remake)
First of all, here's a bonus very few know of. When the remake of SMB 3 1-1 starts for real (aka you come out the pipe), jump on top of the pipe and jump again to make some invisible coin blocks appear. This will make the pipe start shooting out coins.
You'll also see some Gold Rings around. Activate them, then chuck a Koopa Shell at the line of enemies for a ton of coins.
However, don't quit there! Keep going and blast all the Piranha Plants and Venus Fire Traps, since if you kill them when they're gold, a Gold Mushroom pops out the pipe they're in along with a stream of coins!
Part way through the level, there's a pipe you can enter in the ground. In here is a remake of level 1-5 from Super Mario Bros 3.
However, there are some secrets to be found. For one thing, if you're not already, become Gold Mario. Why? Because every time he shoots a Piranha Plant here, a stream of coins comes out the pipe! Try it on the first two you see.
There's also three bricks above small openings filled with water. If you drop down the first opening, a Star Coin appears.
The second brick is a multi coin/Gold Block, so ground pound it until it turns Gold and turn into Gold Block Mario for more coins.
Going right more, you'll see a pipe. Don't go in though, go left instead. Here there's a moving brick, hit it to get another Gold Mushroom.
Further right, there's a note block all on it's own. Bounce on it to make an invisible block with a vine appear. Climb up to reach a room with a giant 2 symbol made of coins!
Near where you come out are three pipes with plants in. A ? block will soon appear, hit it for another Gold Flower.
Nearby you'll see a pipe going into the sky. Wall kick off its side onto the coloured block, then jump to make some invisible coin blocks appear. Climb up these, and enter the pipe to find a remake of a Mario Bros level with more clocks and another Star Coin! Once you're done, exit through a pipe to the lower right side of the room.
Also, there's a small gap between two pipes with a bush. Jump down to make coins start flying out the pipe to the right.
Further up is the flagpole. Not only is there a Gold Mushroom in one of the bricks making up the structure nearby...
But underneath there's a gap leading to a secret exit! Here there's a roulette block and a ton of falling coins (including two giant ones), so get them and jump to the top of the flagpole for a massive coin bonus!
Level 3 (The Super Mario Bros 1 1-4 remake)
For the main 'secret' here, go up the red pipe in the ceiling right ahead. This leads to a remake of New Super Mario Bros 2's first level, except with a ton of Gold blocks and a Gold Flower right in an obvious to find place!
Right above the first Gold Block is a hidden block with a Gold Mushroom.
Most stuff is here is obvious, almost all secrets are in the same place as they were in the standard first level of the game, and almost all Star Coins and Gold Blocks and things in the area are in plain sight.
Back to the Bowser's Castle themed area now. Near the midpoint flag is a Gold Block and some statues that shoot fire. Jump around to reveal invisible coin blocks with a Gold Mushroom and another Gold Flower!
The final Star Coin is located near the switch in the Bowser boss room. If you wait around near the switch without hitting it, coins will eventually fall from the skies. Be warned though, Bowser can still hit you here!
That's all for that level, it doesn't have many secrets as such.
So there's my guide and tips for New Super Mario Bros 2's Gold Classics Pack. Did it help you find any more coins and get to that conveted 30 000 coin score? I hope so!
