Acer, Asus, and Lenovo are on a charm offensive at IFA this year, and their target demographic is that reliably spendthrift group we know as gamers. Collectively, these three companies account for a third of global PC shipments, and they represent an industry-wide trend toward promoting more gaming gear. The hope is that slumping PC sales can be rejuvenated by appealing to the class of users who upgrade their hardware most often and spend most lavishly.

The PC gaming market produced $21.5 billion in hardware sales last year, according to data from Jon Peddie Research, which is more than double the revenues derived from console sales.

I think most hardcore gamers build their own Gaming PCs instead of buying a pre-built PC from Acer, Asus, and Lenovo because it is usually cheaper to build your own Gaming PC than buy one which can cost hundreds to thousands of dollars more.

I agree, you never find a hardcore gamer using a pre-built PC machine. I think non-hardcore gamers are also asking their hardcore gamer friends to help them build them a faster PC for a good price, so they can play game with their Hardcore gamers friends without spending a lot of money on a more expensive gaming PC from a company like Alienware which overcharges hundreds of dollars for a Gaming PC.
