I voted each day... My votes weren't too far off in most cases from who won. I picked:
  • Villain Most in Need of a Hug - Borderlands 2
  • I Thought This Game Was Cool Before It Won an Award - Stardew valley
  • Test of Time - Civilization 5
  • Just 5 More Minutes - Fallout 4
  • Whoooaaaaaaa, dude! - Metal Gear Solid V
  • Game Within a Game - Tabletop Simulator (I mean how could I really pick anything else over it? It's whole point was to be a game for playing other games.)
  • I'm Not Crying, There's Something in My Eye - The Walking Dead (I haven't even played Season 2 or 3 yet... Season 1 alone was sad enough as is.)
  • Best Use of a Farm Animal - Arc: Survival Evolved
  • Boom Boom - Doom

As for my thoughts? I think they were fine. They were really fairly implemented as people voted on nominees back in November, then in December picked the winners. The only thing I would change/do going forward is just make it so past winners can't win again. This way people just don't keep voting GTA 5 over and over again. I mean yes, it's popular but it's already won so give other games time to shine.
 
Not really into steam, so I obviously didn't vote.
