Well you've just pushed the timeline for the invasion of taiwan that much more closer with this move. China was unhappy with the status quo back then, it's going to be really unhappy now.

Taiwan’s pretty difficult to invade, and could possibly backfire on them, as Taiwan would probably self-sabotage the semiconductor plants there.

Have you seen the logistics of an invasion of Taiwan? It’s insane.

I wouldn't say it's difficult but straight up impossible now that US said they'd defend it. The question now is do they still try or not.
