Today my 42" TV blew. It was only 2yrs old. I bought the RCA non-smart TV cheap thing for $300.

So I had to buy a TV. If you are are going to be forced to buy one why not spend a ton, buy the best, and go broke doing so.
I bought a 55" Vizio ultra high-definition 4K Smart TV.

Peeps, you have no idea how incredible it is playing games on this baby. It's freakin' AMAZING!!!!

So what were you doing when it blew? :P And by blew, did it actually blow up?

I'm sure 4k is amazing, though I highly doubt I will get myself a 4k tv anytime soon its one reason why I'm getting the PS4 pro to future proof myself a bit.

I'm pretty sure I have the exact same 4K tv as you! I love my Vizio TV. Sadly though, A 50" 1080p smart TV I've had for about 3-4 years from Vizio just died. Hopefully this isn't a sign of their lifespans and there was a power surge I wasn't aware of, but overall you can't go wrong with Vizio.

Your Vizio TV sounds like a nice TV.

It maybe a good idea to buy the 3 year extended warranty on cheaper TVs if you plan on keeping a cheap TV for more than 3 years, and you are a heavy TV user who use your TV for more than 4 hours a day.

But, cheap TVs are pretty cheap these days, so extended warranties may not be worth it.

Don't say that. It was $900. It better last longer than 3-4yrs.

It's kind of weird that LCD computer monitors seem to last for many years, but I tend to hear more stories of LCD TVs breaking more often.

I have some old desktop LCD computer monitors which are many years old, and still work well. I also see a lot of older LCD computer monitors at places like schools, library, or cash register machines, and they seem to still work good enough for their basic tasks like displaying text on a screen, or web browsing.

The LCD screens on my laptops and cheap tablets also are still working after many years of constant use.

I guess we'll see how long this lasts.

I just spent two hours calibrating all of the color settings. Guys .......... there is so much to figure out. I think I got the thing color tuned all professional now. Wow, it looks great now.
I tried to take some ps4 screenshots but the quality goes all crap from the ss I guess.

Say on your tv, do you have different HDMI ports? I was reading up on HDMI 2.0 cable or something like that and some were saying it mattered which HDMI slot you put it in on your tv.

Yeah, there is 5. One is the 4K 60hzs or higher, the others are 30hzs. All versions of PS should be at 60 but apperently the PS pro doesn't seem to work with it. I don't have a pro so I'm good.

Are there any 4K TV where all HDMI slot are the same, and does not matter which HDMI slot you use?

I honestly do not know, I only learned a few days ago that there is more to an HDMI slot that meets the eye. Heck, I'm trying to figure out if my TV has HDR abilities or not.

anything above 720p is hardly crappy.

I think 720P is okay for smaller size TV screens, and monitors, or if you sit farther back from your display.

Sometimes people over compress video files to save storage space, but the quality is not as good because of lower frame rates, and blurry video caused by compressing the video too much sort of like how people over compress JPEG picture files to save space, and make them load faster on slower internet connections and devices like tablets, and smartphones.

If its cheap and from walmart, don't trust anything.

I saw some reviews that said there are good cheap laptops and tablets from Walmart. But, they are mostly good enough for watching online video, and basic school and work related tasks.

It is better to buy more affordable electronics from bigger brands like the Amazon, Vizio, Acer, Asus, and Motorola which sell more affordable electronics which has a better reputation than companies like RCA which reputation is not as good.

American companies like HP seems to be releasing better electronics than the past where they were less reliable.
