Ok, since the last one FAILED, I'll make a new RPG. This one is a bit less complicated than the last one, with fewer die rolling elements and such. Sign-up is also simple, just fill in the character sheet.

This post should contain all the information you'll need to play. It's so simple anyone could do it!

Story:

For a certain reason (please specify in your characters bio) your character has travelled to Isle Delfino, specifically Delfino Plaza. Upon arrival you notice something in the sky. A mysterious black and purple dot. You know what that is.

A Void.

Void's have the power to completely destroy a world, sucking it into an alternate dimension that always has black and purple clouds that produce lightning all around. Very few who entered one of these have come back out alive. The Void has brought with it the Heartless, weird black beings that feed off the negative energy of others. They are heavily populating Isle Delfino.

You now have a mission: Stop that Void at all costs.

Objective:

Stop the Void. You'll need to do this by gathering the Silver Stars. Once all are gathered they will transform into a Grand Star which will take you to the Void.

Of course, your character knows nothing about how to stop the Void, not even the Silver Stars. You'll need to ask for information around the place.

Locations:

You'll be able to go to everywhere on Isle Delfino. If you don't know what these areas look like then look up a few videos about Super Mario Sunshine.

You can visit these in any order, HOWEVER until one Silver Star is found the only areas open are Bianco Hills and of course Delfino Plaza. Each time a certain number of Silver Stars are found a new world opens up. The first two are easy to open but the number increases after that. Each world has many Silver Stars, so keep your eyes peeled!

Special stages will also appear but are not open until one Silver Star has been located in each world. They all open at the same time.

Note: "left" is how many Silver Stars everyone has to find total to open the world. When I've made final decisions, the "Still to find" will appear next to it, indicating how many more Silver Stars can be found.

Worlds:
Delfino Plaza (Open from start)
Bianco Hills (Open from start)
Ricco Harbour (1 Silver Star required - 1 left.)
Gelato Beach (2 Silver Stars required - 2 left.)
Pinna Park (5 Silver Stars required - 5 left.)
Sirena Beach (10 Silver Stars required - 10 left.)
Noki Bay (12 Silver Stars required - 12 left.)
Pianta Village (15 Silver Stars required - 15 left.)
Corona Mountain (20 Silver Stars required - 20 left.)

Secret Areas (To open, all players together must have one Silver Star from each world at least):
Hillside Cave (Not open.)
Dirty Lake Secret (Not open.)
Ricco Tower (Not open.)
Dune Bud Sand Castle (Not open.)
Beach Cannon Secret (Not open.)
The Yoshi-Go-Round (Not open.)
Hotel Lobby Secret (Not open.)
The Secret Shell (Not open.)
Village Underside (Not open.)
The Legendary Sandbird (Not open.)

Shops:

The currency is Coins. You'll need to buy Items and services from shops to help in your search. These are the Shops available and what you can buy from them. For services, the amount you'll have to pay is shown. All the Shops in Delfino Plaza are located to the East side, where the fruit sellers where in Super Mario Sunshine.

Item Shop - Stocks Revive Crystals, Healing Herbs, and other Items.
Motel - Heals you fully, regardless of the condition you enter in. Costs 10 Coins. Only in Delfino Plaza and there is only one.
Hotel - Heals you fully, regardless of the condition you enter in. No real extra features from a Motel and is only on Sirena Beach. Costs 30 Coins, but at least breakfast is included - a free Healing Herb and Revive Crystal are yours to take.
Fruit Shop - One in every world, excluding specials. Better buy Fruit if you want to ride Yoshi for an extended period of time.
Egg Shop - These are scattered around everywhere, some appear in Worlds and others don't. Some specialise in one Yoshi Egg colour and others don't. See the Yoshi section for costs.

Items:

Revive Crystals - Revives you from Unconsciousness. One use only. Cost: 20 Coins.
Healing Herb - Restores all health. Can't revive you if you are Unconscious. Cost: 10 Coins.
Life Shroom - Boost yourself so you can take up to 200% damage instead of 100. Once you reach 200% though, you are Unconscious and the effect fades. Using anything that restores damage after passing 100% will also negate the effects, dropping you back to whatever you may have had leftover after healing. Cost: 15 Coins.
Magic Crystals - Use these to add 1 to your die roll for Magic. If you roll a 6, subtract 1. Cost: 20 Coins.

More Items coming soon... Maybe.

Yoshi:

Yoshis are a good mode of transport on the Isle. They can set you back a bit of cash though - you'll need to feed them every 5 posts to avoid him dying. You can purchase or find 7 different coloured Yoshis. Their costs and special abilities are listed below. The Green Yoshi is the easiest to find outside of an Egg Shop whilst the Black and White ones are hard to find, even IN a Shop.

Green: Basic. Doesn't use any Magic and is the easiest to find. Cost: 25 Coins.
Red: Uses the Fire Element. Cost: 50 Coins.
Dark Blue: Uses the Water Element. Cost: 50 Coins.
Light Blue: Uses the Ice Element. Cost: 50 Coins.
Yellow: Uses the Electric Element. Cost: 50 Coins.
Pink: Uses the Wind Element. Cost: 50 Coins.
Black: Uses the Shadow Element, and is hard to find. Cost: 100 Coins.
White: Uses the Shine Element, and is hard to find. Cost: 100 Coins.

Okay, that's all the boring stuff. Now for the character creation!

Copy this into your post first:

Name:
Origin:
Age:
Gender:
Appearance:
Backstory:
Personality:
Weapon:
Magic Class:
Elements:
Special Abilities:

Ok, now let's break these into more detail:

Name: The name of your character. Please choose something that isn't directly related to the character i.e. no characters called "Yoshi". That's too generic.
Origin: Well, where'd your character come from before here?
Age: How old is your character?
Gender: Male or Female? Or both? Or none?
Appearance: What the character looks like. You can provide a picture too, if you like.
Backstory: What's the original reason your character came to Isle Delfino?
Personality: What your characters personality is like. Are they shy? Fun? Loud? Stupid? This can also serve as a Bio.
Weapon: Your characters weapon. *Important* MELEE WEAPONS ONLY. NO OTHER WEAPONS ALLOWED. You want a projectile, use your Magic. The ONLY exceptions are bows and arrows, and slingshots.
Magic Class: Dark, Light, or Yin-Yang? You can change this at any time. Here's what each do:
Dark: Uses Magic for attacking rather then defending.
Light: Uses Magic for defending and healing rather then attacking.
Yin Yang: Uses both Dark and Light Magic. But it isn't as powerful as someone who specialises in one or the other. You can also choose to "Lean" more to one then the other.
Elements: These are the Elements you can use. Each Magic has an Element. You can learn a maximum of two, after that you'll have to replace one with the one you want to learn. If you forgot one and then later decide you want it back, it will take less time to relearn it. The Elements are:
Shadow (weak to Shine. Strong against Shine.)
Shine (weak to Shadow. Strong against Shadow.)
Fire (weak to Water. Strong against Forest.)
Water (weak to Forest. Strong against Fire.)
Forest (weak against Fire. Strong against Water.)
Ground (weak against Wind. Strong against Electricity.)
Electricity (weak against Ground. Strong against Wind.)
Wind (weak against Electricity. Strong against Ground.)
Special Abilities: Things like running fast, or being stealthy. A physical enhancement. Only one at a time, please. And no shape-shifting, either.

Levels, EXP, Battles, and Damage:

Firstly, Levels. Each time you level up you will need an extra 5 EXP Points to get to the next level. Here's the first 10:
Level 2: 10 EXP
Level 3: 15 EXP
Level 4: 20 EXP
Level 5: 25 EXP
Level 6: 30 EXP
Level 7: 35 EXP
Level 8: 40 EXP
Level 9: 45 EXP
Level 10: 50 EXP

Looks simple, but your EXP drops to 0 after a level up, regardless if there's any left over.

Here's how levels will help you in battle. Take a note of your current level and what level your enemy is at. If you are:

The same level: Roll a die. If you get an even number, you won. If you get an odd number, you lost.
Between 1 and 5 Levels higher: Roll a die. If it's a 1, you lost. If its a 2, you lost, but are Restricted, not unconscious. If its a 3, you won, but add 25% to Damage. If its a 4, you won, but add 10% to Damage. If it's a 5, you won and took no Damage. If it's a 6, you won, but add 75% to Damage.
More than 5 Levels higher: Automatic victory. Roll a die for Damage. If it's a 1, add 75%. If it's a 2, add 50%. If it's a 3, add 25%. If it's a 4, add 10%. If it's a 5 or 6, don't add anything.]
Between 1 and 5 Levels Lower: Roll a die.
More than 5 Levels Lower: Automatic loss. Roll a die. If it's an even number, you are Incapable. If it's an odd number, you are unconscious.

Now, EXP. Each time you defeat an enemy, roll the die. The number shown is how much EXP you get. Roll once per enemy. If the enemy is 10 or higher, roll 2 dice. If it's level 20 or higher, roll 3, etc.

Next, Battles. Much simpler this time, just follow the above rules about Levels. You also don't need to have too many battles in the game either. You lose a battle when your damage is at 100%.

One thing to note though. If you lose a battle... You will be either Unconscious or Incapable.
Unconscious: You cannot move. At all. Wait until someone helps you out. If you've fallen in the sights of a Shop, they drag you inside and heal you.
Incapable: You can still fight... Sorta. You are on the ground and can barely move. You can't use your wepaon, and can only cast Magic. One more hit and you're unconcious though. You can therefore try to battle the enemy but as soon as you take even the slightest hit you're a goner.

Using Magic in a Battle requires the roll of the die. If its a:

1: Epic Fail.
2: Kinda fail.
3: Kinda success
4: Success
5: Perfect success
6: Overshot

Finally, Damage. Unlike HP this number automatically goes up to 100%, starting at 0. Each time you take damage add it to this number, when you reach 100%, you are Incapable or Unconscious depending on a roll of the die. If it wasn't covered in the Level section, simply roll an even number for Incapable or an odd for Unconscious.

Rules:
  • You can make your own enemies - in fact I'm counting on it!! Haha!
  • The first character you make is automatically a Hero. You can only make 2 Heroes. You can make as many villians as you like though. Make sure the villians have something to do with your characters plot though.
  • No killing eachother's characters. Please PM me if you want to kill your character first.
  • You are NOT allowed to control any other players characters, only they can. If their character doesn't repsond then your character should walk away from them as if they said nothing.
  • Get creative with that Magic - offensively you could summon a tidal wave of water, defensively a bubble!
  • Do what you like, but keep your objective in mind!
  • KEEP POSTING. Even if I don't post keep this active or the game will die, and the next RPG I make will go back to EXTREME BASICS. If that fails too, I won't bother making another one.
  • If we can defeat that Void... An extra story may be added with a new world to explore in!
  • Remember the main enemies are the Heartless but this IS a Mario World, so there are many Mario enemies here too.
  • Please restrict yourself to video game characters. No make-your-own. Of course, if you want to use a Yoshi with Wings, go for it. The main STRUCTURE of the character has to be the same but the character can have different features and colours.
  • Battles this time are all about how creative you wanna get. The battle system has been tuned down as it gets confusing and turns into a really long post. DO NOT tell us what you rolled - just say whether you failed or not. But make it sound epic!
  • Any questions, let me know. If you wanna step out of character put OOC: before the comment. To get back into character, use: RP:.
  • If you don't know what the worlds look like.... Youtube a Super Mario Sunshine video. These are basically the same.
  • If you get knocked unconscious, DO NOT continuosly post things such as "Hurry up and save me". I certainly won't save you.
  • Feel free to team up with others: actually, this is much safer then travelling alone!
  • At the end of each post, PLEASE STATE THE FOLLOWING: Level, Damage, Magic Class, Elements, EXP, Coins, and Items.

Of course, here's my character:

Name: Zylo
Origin: Mobius
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Appearance:
Zylo_the_Dark_Hedgehog.jpg

Backstory:He's here because he wants revenge on the Heartless for taking away his parents' hearts.
Personality: A Hedgehog that transformed when he first-handedly watched the Heartless extract his parents' hearts. He now chases them for revenge, and to get his parent's hearts back. He has since regained the goodness he used to have, but as he seeks revenge, he still has this physical appearance. He floats rather then runs.
Sadly, due to his 'evil' looks, people on Mobius keep running away from him, and as such he became quiet and shy. He takes a while to open right up to people, and often goes on what he calls 'thoughtful walks'.
Weapon: A standard Keyblade.
Magic Class: Yin-Yang, Lean towards Dark.
Elements: Shadow and Fire.
Special Abilities: N/A. He'd move faster if he wasn't a Dark Hedgehog, as he'd run instead of float.

RP: Zylo looked around. He'd used his Shadow powers to follow the Heartless but they seem to have led him to a completely different world. "A new world.... This is bad..... I don't know my way around here. I'd better ask for information...." Zylo takes a few steps forward and ends up at the foot of a giant statue. "Boy, this things big. Whoops, shouldn't get distracted...." Zylo looks around behind the statue and sees somebody. "These are the strangest looking people I've ever seen. A tree that grows out of their heads?" Nonetheless, Zylo walks up to the strange being, in the hopes he's friendly. But halfway there, he stops, noticing something in the sky.

"What's that? Wait.... Wha? A VOID? How the..... I didn't think the Heartless could make those!" Now Zylo's really worried. That Void might be small now but it can - and will- grow to a huge size if something's not done fast.

"I need some more information on this. I'll go talk to that person I saw..... Wha? He's GONE!"

Sure enough, the strange being had rounded a corner, out of site. "Great. Just great. I'll have to look elsewhere. I can hear a bit of noise coming from the right, so I'll try that way first." He looks towards the furthest alleyway off to his right. "That sounds like my best bet." He begins to float in that direction. "I sure hope the people of this world don't get frightened like those back home..." he mutters.

Zylo's Stats:
Level: 1
Damage: 0%
Magic Class: Yin Yang, Lean to Dark
Elements: Shadow, Fire

Name: Spy Guy
Origin: Subcon
Age: Unknown
Gender: Male

Appearance:

gallery_19_35_12398.png

Backstory: Hired by Subcon, Spy Guy is one of few Shy Guys that resides in the dream land once ruled by Wart. Subcon has reported various odd occurrences near the portal between their world and the real world, and have asked Spy Guy to investigate.

Personality: Clumsy, but determined. Will accomplish any goal that he sets for himself.

Weapon: What looks like a frying pan is actually a dual-weapon, that functions as a melee combat weapon when held from the thin end, as well as a bow and arrows made of light when held from the round end. It's called a Crescent Blade.

Magic Class: Light

Elements: Ground and Wind

Special Abilities: Able to cloak oneself, rendering themselves completely immune to all attacks (so long as they stand still)

RP:
Spy Guy steps out of the door connecting his world to the outside world. It creaks open, as if it had not been open for hundreds of years. He finds himself staring down a long staircase inside a cave. Taking each step with care, he reaches the top of the staircase and walks out into the light, stepping onto a patch of bright green grass. He looks up, noticing windmills everywhere, and a lot of people bustling about. He walks around unnoticed, reading a sign that says "Bianco Hills". His Crescent Blade held by his side, he calmly adjusts to the new environment before hearing a loud rumble. He looks up, noticing that it's coming from the huge windmill up top. Not knowing what kind of creature lives there, Spy Guy is certain he can't face up to it just yet, and quickly vanishes towards the direction of Delfino Plaza in the hunt for clues on what exactly he is up against.

Incomplete Sign-Up:
Name: Herp Derpson
Origin: Subspace
Age: 14
Gender: Male
Appearance:
herpderpson.png

Backstory: Herp is an outcast. And it takes a lot of suckage to be an outcast in a Mite colony. While wandering around because he couldn't find any heroes, Herp noticed a void that was slightly purpler than the Subspace void he was used to. When sucked inside, he grew bigger, stronger, and decidedly less flat. He came out in sunny Isle Delfino, powerless and confused.
Personality: Mites don't have personalities, but that warp may have messed with Herp's brain a little...
Weapon: Currently just his hands. He may find something soon...
Magic Class: Dark
Elements: Electricity and Water
Special Abilities: None yet

I left three blank since Herp is a worthless mite, but he will find a weapon and discover his ability soon. The weapon will change as he gets stronger, and his personality and look will become less awkward as well. But for now, he can't even talk. Poor Herp.
First IC post coming soon.

OOC: Thanks for joining up BioApple, I was wondering if anyone else besides me and NintenDan where gonna bother.. And no problem, just be sure to provide the info when you're ready!

Name: Bad Guy
Origin: Spy guy's family
Age: 12
Gender: Male
Appearance: Avatar
Backstory: Bad Guy used to be Good guy, however a prank gone wrong on him by his brother, Spy guy caused a breakage in their family relationship, Bad guy taking the brunt of it. He's followed Spy Guy here for revenge.

Personality: On the outside, he acts brave and confident; but on the inside, he's a squishy coward who'll probably won't get a girl anytime soon because he has trouble socializing.
Weapon: A single knife, straight from the terrible prank
Magic Class: Yin Yang, Leaning alot to Dark, but not quite there
Elements: Water and Forest.
Special Abilities: Offensive: Secretly, he keeps a picture of Spy Guy for memories, and this subconscious love gives him 10% more Hp. Defensive: He will harden and turn into a statue, essentially, doubling his defense, but halving his offense.

Crud, I completely forgot about this. I have so much stuff going on it's hard to stay committed with this.

RP: Herp fell to the beachy ground rather hard. Stuck in the sand, he grunted in pain. Pain... That was a new sensation for him. He didn't like it. Dislike... That was also a new sensation for him. Herp suddenly became aware of his inability to express his emotions, and he got somewhat scared. Fear... That was also a new sensation. Regardless, Herp hoisted himself out of the sand by wriggling his limbs. They seemed to be permanently bent. He hoped this would fade soon. Hope...

Using the famous logic (or lackthereof) of his Mite people, Herp surmised that being in a somewhat different body, in an entirely different world, and feeling things, that he was in a different plane of existence altogether. Did he die? This place seemed far too sunny and lively to be Purgatory. Was there a word for that? Herp shook his head in confusion. Soon afterward, he realized he could shake his head. Reveling in his ability to perform some basic human actions, Herp waddled over to a nearby pier and hit a Heartless in the face by accident. The Heartless then proceeded to attack Herp wildly. Herp could not move his arms enough to defend himself, and therefore the extent of his battling was to express dislike towards his new enemy. This was not enough, and so Herp woke up half an hour later in a shop with smelling salts being raised to his lack of a nose. Surprisingly, though, Herp did smell them. What's more, he could feel the carpet beneath him and even taste some of the bitter medicine that was pooling in the back of his throat. Herp, feeling much better, left the oddly empty shop, taking a banana on his way out in the hopes it could defend him.

End of RP - Herp's Stats:
Level: 1
Damage: 0%
Magic Class: Dark
Elements: Water, Electricity
EXP: 0
Coins: 0
Items: None
New Weapon: Banana

OOC: As Herp is constantly evolving throughout the story, I think it would help for changes in his appearance and arsenal to be made clear at the end of each post. No change in appearance this time, though, since I am quite lazy.

EDIT: Change in appearance will now be done after most, if not all, posts.

OOC: NintenDon, fine sign-up, but I would like to know out of curiosity if you asked NintenDan about being related to his character.

Bio, good start there. I'm liking the uniqueness of Herp already. By the looks of it though, your first battle went badly.

RP: Zylo rounded the corner, and stopped in shock. Before him looked like a small shopping area, selling all sorts of fruits, items, and a Motel too. He could only say one thing. "Whoa."

Zylo had never seen so many people - if they WHERE people - in one place without someone spotting him, shouting "EVIL!!!" and causing the street to be deserted. Zylo spotted a different kind of person too... Looked like a small creature in a shell. It seemed to be talking with the whacky tree-growing-out-of-the-head people.

Zylo chortled a little. "And I thought we got some weird people on Mobius. These guys must've one first prize for most strange in the whole universe. Speaking of which..." Zylo suddenly remembered why he'd run off this way. "I need to find out where I am!!"

Zylo ran towards the nearest shop, which looked like it was selling fruits of several different kinds... Bananas, pears, chillis, and what looked something that should be more of a soccer ball then a fruit, labelled a "durian". He walked up to the strange fellow that seemed to own the shop, one of those people with a tree on their heads.

"Hello, can I help you?" the fellow asked.

"I hope so.... I seem to have somehow entered this... Location... By mistake.... Can you tell me what this town is called, and what land its on?"

"Uh.... Oh, I get it. You suddenly turned up somehow. Well, you're standing here, in my store, in Delfino Plaza, on Isle Delfino in the Mushroom World."

"O...k..... Then......" Zylo didn't know what any of that meant, but he did know he wasn't on Mobius anymore! "Thanks..."

"Anytime! Now, care to buy any fruit? I can give you a small taste test if you like!"

"May I try a little bit of those watermelons? They look incredibly juicy..."

"They certainly do! Here..." The fellow cuts a small slice and hands it to Zylo, who takes a bite.

"Wow! That's the best watermelon I've ever tasted!"

"Of course it is! The sun shines bright on Isle Delfino, and there's plenty of water, so the fruit get everything they need to become juicy and tasty!"

"Thanks for the taste test! I'm sure that with fruit like that I'll be back at some point during my stay!"

"No problem! I'll be happy to let you but anything you may see!" The fellow waves goodbye, and Zylo steps out from the little shop. He realises that maybe it's more of a market then a shopping district, since that's how it looks. "Well, at least I kinda have an idea of where I am. I wonder if anyone knows about the Void or how to stop it though? It looks hungry!"

Zylo simply stares up at the Void, but then turns slightly to admire the brilliant blue sky, with very, very few small, white, fluffy clouds float rather lazily across it. "Sure is a nice sky, looks like they have great weather here. Hey.... That's a little beach over there.... And that water doesn't look too cold.... Oh to heck with it."

Zylo decides to have a quick swim. "The Void can wait.... I need to find out some other information first, and it won't grow within 10 minutes."

I WOULD join, but this is T1. I don't do T1.

Herp was currently as angry as his meager mind would allow. Brandishing his banana, he wandered outside the shop and found a Heartless. Herp didn't know how he knew the creature's name, but at least he could identify his foe. He snuck up behind it, which was easy as Heartless' minds aren't much more developed than Mites'. As soon as Herp was behind the creature, he wrapped his arms around it and shoved the banana into its windpipe. The creature attempted to breathe, but Herp punched it in the face with a snap. The snap was actually Herp's arm finally becoming unbent, and the noise the Heartless made was more of a glump of sorts. Regardless, Herp followed his punch with another, his other arm snapping into place as it made contact with inky biomatter. Before Herp could figure out how to finish the creature off, however, a green Yoshi flew out of nowhere and attached its tongue to the banana in the Heartless' throat. He then proceeded to eat the entire monster in one gulp, spitting out two barbed antennae before running back the way it had come. Herp looked after it, bewildered, then picked up the antennae. He wondered what to do now.
