Over the last couple of days, there has been a lot of chatter about a new PS3-exclusive RPG coming down the pipe from Nippon Ichi Software (also known as NIS). NIS is most well-known for its Disgaea and Prinny games, though gamers might also recognize some of its more recent titles, such as La Pucelle: Tactics and Phantom Brave. Now, NIS' Prinny Team is hard at work on a new game. It's called Majo to Hyakkihei, which roughly translates to The Witch and the Hundred Soldiers.

Japanese gaming blog Andriasang first broke the story, detailing some of the game's characters, plot points and gameplay. The "witch" in the title is named Metallica (yes, Metallica), but the main characters you'll play as are "soldiers" named Hyakkihei. The game is an action-centric RPG, complete with a main quest, side quests and plenty of boss battles that should take about 30 hours to complete.

Andriasang has since revealed that a teaser site for the game has opened.

The Witch and the Hundred Soldiers is set for launch in Japan on the PlayStation 3 in the spring of 2012. There's no word yet on its release in North America or Europe.
