Okay, so I was thinking about getting a new PS3 controller; the one the guy sent the console with was a dud and crapped out on me right away, but he compensated my misfortune so I feel better knowing I don't have to pay for my own controller (I also had my own at one point again, earlier, when I bought it so I could use my brother's PS3 with two people but one of his friends stole it when I left it in the room one time; and I'm almost positive I never lost it, as he claims several times. It WAS in that general vicinity when the incident occurred). I've come across a few choices and the ones at the top are the ones I favor the most:
1) Ultra Comfort (Black & Orange) Wireless Bluetooth Controller
http://www.amazon.com/Upgraded-Ultra-comfort-Bluetooth-Controller-Playstation-3/dp/B009OAVUOM
This one I am considering a lot, but since it's bluetooth that is one reason why I don't want to buy it. My brother's friend bought a DreamGear Wireless Bluetooth Controller one time and it NEVER even got found by the PS3 itself. I still have it since his friend got frustrated and left it here, but I never got it to work. And so I have trust issues with bluetooth controllers, though aside from that it looks like it has a very comfortable grip, 360 back triggers and also has six-axis support which is very good; means it'll act like a normal controller even with the motions and everything. It is the least expensive of the choices I want.
2) GC-2 Wireless Controller

This controller comes with a wireless dongle, so bluetooth may not be an issue here at all. Though at the cost of that, I hear it has a very uncomfortable surface and has a very awkward feel to it. The joystick positions are similar to a 360's so that interested me since I loved how an Xbox 360 controller felt in my hands, so I considered this. And it also has the same triggers as a 360 controller, but the dongle itself has to be charged too for some dumb reason rather than taking power from the console it's plugged into like most dongles do. So I didn't want to have to charge two things whenever the time came, and decided maybe I shouldn't get it but I'm not sure yet. I am not sure if it has six-axis support either, so maybe that's one reason as well. It is the most expensive of the choices I want.
3) Pro Elite Wireless Controller

This one got the most favorable reviews from the aforementioned controller, but most negative reviews refer to it's deadzone as a main downpoint on buying it; alongside the grip of the controller itself. So that's one reason why I didn't consider it at first, but most favorable reviews say it has the best feel and connectivity of all third-party controllers ever made and that it would last you a lifetime; one review was from 2011 saying this so I believe the controller may have significantly improved since then, which sounds very tempting. But it too also has a rechargable dongle, which annoys me a lot. It has six-axis support as well. It is the second least expensive of the choices I want.
4) Generic First-Party PS3 Controller: Silver Edition
No link required, you already know what it is. I considered this, even though it's the most expensive of the others, just because maybe one of the third-parties may crap out on me and I want to get my money's worth so maybe in the end I might just kneel down to Sony's high controller prices just to get my experience.
So in the end, out of all these reviews, I may want the bluetooth one the most, but I also want longevity; maybe a year at the most at least, but definitely more if doable since a year is still pretty short. I will wind up getting a PS4 maybe in 2015 or 2016; whenever the PS3 gets discontinued as I still enjoy using my PS3 a lot and will probably use it for years to come due to some of it's addictive games. But yeah, I don't know if anyone else has seen these controllers before so maybe your opinions will differ from my criticisms since I haven't really owned any of these other controllers and am just basing my judgement off of what I read (with the exception of the first one, which I had from experience due to bluetooth crapping out on me before, but that was a different controller by DreamGear and not by the people who made this one so it could be better, maybe). So what do you think: first choice, second, third or just follow in Sony's footsteps and get one of theirs?
