This "LittleBigPlanet Karting" thing seems very Mario Kart-ish...

A new game for the PS3 has announced, called "LittleBigPlanet Karting". Though I don't know about anything about the LBP series or PS3 games in general, I have found several elements inspired my Mario Kart...

At 0:20, you can see you can do drift boosts, like in Mario Kart...

0:29: Of course, there will be various items...

0:37: You can customize your kart frame, tires etc. Heck, do those karts on 0:39 and 0:42 remind me of...

0:37: Battle mode, duh.

The mini-games and platforming courses look neat, though.

Any thoughts?

Actually, they are basing on another game they make, Modnation Racing. Also, most of the stuff is straight outta the LBP building packs, which have been around for years. If anything, Mario Kart 7 took a note from Modnation Racing (at least in regards to the customization stuff).

Well, why not? I liked Modnation Racing (heck, I've even searched and downloaded for several Mario Kart characters and vehicles!) and Little Big Planet is quite fun (just something that I never quite got into). I'll give this a good look.

It looks AMAZING.
Who cares if it looks like Mario Kart-most racing games are doing things similar to Mario Kart.

It doesn't look too bad, but the physics and items don't look very good...
