Thoughts on project placement?

Like the recent Mario Kart and Mario Maker Mercedes tie in stuff?

Do you think it's a good idea? Or do you think it just ruins the game and makes things kind of strange?

Product placement?

Odd in Mario Kart since Nintendo doesn't have a precedent for it as I'm aware. Downright baffling to have Mercedes in Super Mario Maker. Maybe they can put Taco Bell in the new Zelda game.

I'm not too bothered by it since they are pretty straight forward with it, rather than using odd camera angles or still shots to put extra emphasis on an out of place product.
