Three Million DSs

Now entering its fifth year in the market, the Nintendo DS has finally hit three million units sold in Australia. In a release today, Nintendo took time to reflect on the achievement.

With three million units sold through, the Nintendo DS is now the most popular gaming platform in Australia. According to Nintendo, it's also on track to be the best selling platform in 2010.

Yes, but it's not the greatest video game system out there at the moment. Besides, many people buy one, but then either never use it, or get shovelware games.

hmmm, this is true. but unlike the PS2 the DS is a pure video gaming device as all it's features are for gaming only.

True, but the DS have pictochat, which is non gaming.

Yeah, DS is not pure gaming. And the only other two things the PS2 did were DVD's and CD's. And how often was the CD used? Plus with the 3DS coming out soon, it's going to be far from just a gaming device.

I'm just talking about the DS lite, not any of it's advance versions. but anyways, some PS2 games came with movie CDs.

You never used it? It's basically to talk to people through a texting type thing. It's fun.
